Not all the dominoes have fallen, but we are getting some clarity.

I've done posts in the past showing a clear correlation between where we have sunk assets in free agency/trades and the positions we pick early (rounds 1-4) in the past.

We can expect that CB, WR, and RB will be three of our first four selections in the upcoming draft. The 4th likely option is TE given the amount of formal interviews we've had with TE prospects.
You still think they draft a receiver high after the cooks trade?

I have LB ahead of WR and CB now and DT is far and away our biggest need but I’m hoping we see something in free agency to dull that a bit.

If I had to guess I’d say we draft one of Kincaid or Bijan in the first round.
I'm going to lose faith if we use our 1st on a RB.

I don't see CB as a top priority. Unless you plan to move on from Wright and / or Joseph. Then only if one falls to you as BPA.

DT, LB, RB, OL in no specific order, just BPA.
I would still look at a TE's and WR's as well.

O'Cyrus Torronce come on down.
Devon Achane come on down.

You get McGovern replacement and Elliott's replacement.

I think WR has moved down the list and DT has replaced it.
That's not how they've done things in the past.

Also doubt a 30 year old WR on a deal with $0 guaranteed money in the 2nd year of the contract eliminates WR for them.

Honestly the way this off-season is going I’m starting to think we may make a move to get BJ in the first. Or Gibbs or Charbonet without a trade up.

No one knows what the first pick will be. The whole point of free agency for Dallas is to patch holes so that you can take the best player available the draft. We are not desperate for WR, CB, TE, RB, DL, LB, or RB.

In my opinion, we will draft a RB, but Bijan is the only guy with any chance of going to Dallas early.
We have 3 TEs right now as many forget McKeon, all young. We won’t take a TE unless he’s BPA or a really good blocker. A draft choice at CB will struggle to find playing time, so that won’t happen in round 1 unless a stud drops and is BPA.…The same is true at WR.

We need a FB, OG, DT, etc. But none of them need to start. This is going to be a fun draft. We can let round one come to us, or we can trade down and have more fun in round 2.

I'd love to see Torrence or Kincaid at 26. Unless, Carter falls because of the recent negative media attention. If Carter is there, I run the pick to the podium. RB can be had later in the draft.

I disagree. I think WR is still in play with cooks deal, Ceedee contract. I think a TE or CB will be the pick at 26 or trade down if they have multiple people they like.

Keep in mind all the starters in the secondary, minus Dono, are in contract years and they all won't be re-signed next offseason. So, they will be drafting a CB and maybe a S. Jourdan Lewis is also on the last year of his deal.

I don't see that TE or OL are tier 1 concerns at this point. The team has two glaring holes: DT and RB. Maybe you don't fill them in the draft but its not because they aren't the biggest issue.

DT is particularly troubling because I don't see anyone in the draft or free agency left who can make a big difference. Perhaps another trade?

RB is fixable in the draft, without a doubt. I'm kinda hoping Bijan falls. While RB isn't a position of scarcity, it is still a high value position. IMO, the difference between Bijan and some random dude is going to be greater to the team than the difference between a first round TE over Ferguson or a first round OL who may not even start in year 1.

Add Hooker to all that and I am Good

My thinking goes like this:

1st. 2nd. 3rd. 4th. 5th Rounds
OL, RB, DT, LB, TE the thing is two of these could be solved in free agency by signing LB Bobby Wagner and TE Dalton Schultz on a one year deal for a much lower contract than 10 mil so far his market is not what him and his agent thought it would be.

RB is a position you can just as easily get a decent guy in the 4th-6th rounds as 1-3. To me Line play and depth on defense needs to be a priority this draft. Maybe a RB somewhere in there too.

The reason I say this is the WR draft class doesn't seem to be as deep as years past. They are paying Lamb, Gallup and Cooks now (I haven't even looked at his contract. You know more than me right now cause you say he has no guaranteed money). I still think they are also high on Tolbert.

Either way, you may be right. I just think DT is now a bigger need. We will see!
