***Drew Bledsoe Thread***

I'll repeat what I wrote on a earlier thread after the last game.

I have been very critical of Drew on this forum. Here is what I think he brings to the table:

1. Height - Can see over the linemen.

2. Strong Arm - He is more accurate on the long passes.

3. Confidence - No matter what you do to this kid he will continue to play.

4. Leadership? I haven't seen it for myself yet.

What he doesn't bring to the table:

1. Accuracy on short passes. He is going to get JJ killed someday soon.

2. Lack of mobility to even side step a rush. Teams will make up there mind to go after him because where he usually plants his feet is where he is going to stay. Easy target. Can take a hit though.

3. Slow drop back. He's like Herman Monster when he drops back. This gives defenses time to adjust to the routes of our WR's and sniff out the play.

4. Suspect decision making and has shown that he will give up the picks that you don't want to throw. Usually the kind to go back for a TD.

5. Lacks the ability to take over a game although he has a couple of times this year. In other words, he shows flashes of greatness but will fall back to earth if everything isn't working on all fronts. Is not consistent in this area.

** As I have said earlier. I am not sold on the Drew project (both of them) as of yet and DB has to prove to me that he can raise his game above the adjustments of the remaining defenses that have now figured out how to beat him. He doesn't have a good 'O' line but we haven't had one of those for a while now so if anything he should be able to adjust to the pressures of bad 'O' line play better than our younger QB's had to deal with.

As far as I am concerned, he is still a bus driver and I believe it is because Drew doesn't make the right decisions more times than not. BP knows him better than anyone on this forum and there is a reason why he doesn't let him fling it around. Also, to let Drew fling it around means that he can fend for himself for the most part back in the pocket and he just doesn't have the ability to keep plays alive on his own. He is horrible passing on the run so pass protection is a premium. With our 'O' line playing the way it is, BP has to be careful on when he needs to let Drew pass.

I've said all year that Bledsoe has played better than I expected.

He's also less than I want at QB.

true Hos... the first few games he was pretty good but so was Q and Testy either Parcells is doing wrong or its the QB...I hope like heck its not Parcells
but it is becoming a trend

I think that's what I have been trying to say all along. Still some are saying that he will be our starting QB for the next three years!!!!

NOT!!!!

Now i totally agree with all those Bledsoe bashers that said that he would fold in the 2nd half of the season as he did in Buffalo. Man i wish we could get Jimmy back and have him develop our QB of the future because knowing Parcells, he'll be back next year

Parcells is stubborn Zax.

Last year what did the media ride him about? Putting in Henson. How did he respond? By playing Vinny even when it made no sense.

This year what has the media ridden him about? Conservative play calling. How has he responded? By getting more conservative.

Our pre-coke 2003 Qb is better than our 2005 QB. There I said it, and it needed to be said. Stats to hell, both QBs benefited from a great defense. Bottom line, he wasted his chance but I'm really sick of seeing Bledsoe.

Obviously our Oline sucked today...To say the least!

But even when Blesoe had time the throws where High....Low...Behind.

And that Screen throw to Barber early in the game was one of the most Pathetic throws I've ever seen for a screen.

It's no surprise. If the O-Line plays that bad, Drew will look that bad every time. What's amazing is Manning had even worse numbers. With that lack of protection, there's no point talking playoffs right now, even if you had Montana in there.
Here you go.

Bledsoe, 15 of 39, 38% completion %.

Manning, 12 of 31, 39%.

Which one looks better?

Bledsoe, 3.7 yards per pass attempt.

Manning, 4.9 ypa.

Which one looks better?

Bledsoe, 146 yards passing.

Manning 152 yards.

Which one looks better?

Bledsoe, sacked 4 times.

Manning, sacked once.

Which one looks better?

Bledsoe, 2 fumbles lost, 1 returned for a TD.

Manning, no fumbles lost.

Which one looks better?

I can't wait for the spin control on this. Please enlighten us.

Drew Bledsoe fold up like a cheap suit over the second half of a season?

Gee? Who could have predicted such a thing?

Did anybody notice this season all of Drew Bledsoe's interceptions was thrown in the direction of Terry Glenn except for the pass to Keyshawn Johnson today..

LOL Big understatement my friend

While I will agree we are very limited due to the O-line and like I said we could have helped Bledsoe with some first down passes...Bledsoe is not playing very well and has not for awhile

against Philly...yuck
against Detroit...yuck
against Denver... yuck
against NYG...again Yuck

and again when Bill first came here our Offense was leading the league after 4 games with Q before it all went down hill

than we were in the top 8 I think for like 6-7 weeks with Testy before it all went down hill

now again we went like 7-8 weeks doing well before it all went down hill

I mean injures play apart of it but we must be incredibly thin to not be able to sustain one injury that being Flo on offense...

****game thoughts*****

I really think I am gonna enjoy watch Rob play down the road all though he had some rough spots today he handled 3 line stunts very well while Rivera wiffed on one....once he gets an off season in he is gonna be a monster...We ran the ball much better with Gurode in there but he made two brain dead plays one that caused a td for the giants...

Shanle makes me crazy he seems to always wait for the play to come to him and than absorbs the blow instead of delivering it...he could have decked Jacobs on the goalline run instead he waited for Jacobs to come to him and of course that was too late...Keith Davis I seen more of him this game on defense than in any other game but he still is running a tick behind all the others but it looks like he may finally be seeing some light...Ware had a very solid game I thought...not great or even good but close ...still, it was solid which is better than the last 3 games...

Sadly this is not a SB caliber team we still have about 5 holes...but if we can fill those 5 we will not be stopped next year:)

Is that so?

Wasn't a pick on Thanksgiving Day off a throw to Dan?

Throws Terry's way have to lead tho.

After all, he's the one double/triple covered.

Hostile,

Don't forget the 10 points or so off the 2 picks that Manning threw. Bledsoe is not gonna be an all pro, but damn if our line does not get better, there is no quarterback in the NFL that can be successful behind them.

FWIW-Tony Romo is our QB of the future.

Frankly, our OL isn't THAT bad. What can you do when you have a vet QB that has so many bad habits?

Blame Jerry-IF he got Delhomme or Plummer in 03, we would be alot different now.

and at least 3 have been on hail marys or 3rd and a mile like today which worked like a punt...his efficiency could be much higher

but he still sucks in big games
