Isn't it amazing that everywhere Bledsoe goes it's always about the OL?

No doubt our OL needs work, but Bledsoe is horribly slow in his drops, he takes way too much time to get the ball off and he does not do a good job of moving around in the pocket to give himself a lane to throw in. He had 2 or 3 batted passes today, a couple of fumbles, terrible mechanics, an int. but of course with him it's always because the OL is so bad. Excuses, excuses.

Until this franchise commits itself to draft and try and develop a young, talented QB we will never be anything more than a middle of the pack team drafting around the 18-22 position. We simply will never take the step up to be an elite team again!

If you polled NFL GMs, Head Coaches, Offensive Coordinators, and Personnel Directors over who they would rather have, Eli Manning or Drew Bledsoe, it would be a landslide Eli vote.

...DCs on whom they would rather play they would all say Drew Bledsoe at this stage of the season.

With Bledsoe you know exactly what you are getting and what to game plan against.

There's really not much element of surprise. That is the problem with our offence. Everyone including the stadium janitor knows what the Cowboys have to do to make Drew effective.

Since our injuries I can't see how opposing coordinators aren't licking their chops.

We had one play action bootleg and Bledsoe under threw the ball to Keyshawn who was wide open. There also wasn't any defender on Bledsoe because he was located in a place on the field he normally isn't.

Most defences expect him to be in the middle of the pocket.

I think it was a horrible day for throwing for some reason. Neither QB completed even 40% of their passes. Manning was averaging nearly 2 TDs per game and had 0.

Drew had a lot of throws behind receivers, but still Terry should have caught the 60 yard pass at the end. Who knows what would have happened?

Bledsoe has a great arm and he is very accurate. I love that about him.

You nailed it on why he will never be more than he is. There is no clock in his head or sense of urgency to hurry the hell up. That is not always on the OL, but they are great scapegoats. They have some fault. Not all of it. Not by a damn site.

Echo that.

I just think it could have been put to a better use than warming your backside before a fireplace. :)

Are you kidding?

Glenn made a phenomenally athletic play on that ball. One that caused the review process to kick in.

Most other receivers lack the speed/agility to even have made that a 'possible.'

SHOULD have caught it? That was a duck and it was a miracle he even got his hands on it.

That's it. He's just a sloppy QB. Not protecting the football when he was being sacked leads to a fumble and 3 points. Holding the bal so long and not trying to release it until the DL is literally right in his face so that it's impossible for him to step into the throw.

The beat goes on and on and on...

And what we are saying right now is what all the fans of the pats and the bills said about him before he was let go from those organizations. The leopard will never change his spots.

I was willing to see if Parcells could get something out of him that the other teams couldn't and for a while he could. But it's obvious that Bledsoe's weaknesses are simply too ingrained to correct at this stage of his career.

His slow decision making is what kills him. Most good QB's seem like they have an idea where they want to go with the ball before it's even snapped but Bledsoe gets rushed and has no clue what to do with the football. It's like every play is a seperate and brand new experience for this guy.

He started great. I'll give him his due. I couldn't have been happier. Like I said before, I'm still behind him 100%.

However, I will not soft pedal on any player. I didn't on our previous 3 QBs, and I won't now.

If he cannot elevate his game then we need to move on sooner rather than later. This isn't near good enough.

...I think we have to stick with the situation where "opportunity meets availability". Bledsoe sits down if he performs worse than the underlings in practice. Romo and Henson have to beat him out fair and square.

We are actually too good of a team to pass the time away in developing a player on the field in regular season. Our past draft really improved this team and you have to go with Bledsoe to make the best of the opportunity.

As for the draft or FA we have to see what shakes out of the bushes.

Seriously?

Do the math.

6 teams from the NFC will make the playoffs. Ahead of us right now.

Seattle leading NFC West.
Carolina leading NFC South.
Chicago leading NFC North.
NY Giants leading NFC East.

That leaves 2 spots.

The falcons and the Vikings have the same record as us. 3 teasm are potentially only 1 game behind us. There are 4 games left.

There is NO doubt? In Fantasyland maybe.

Sorry, but I just can't blame Bledsoe for piss-poor offensive line play. This was a known issue prior to Bledsoe even coming here, that he needed to be protected in order to succeed. What QB who isn't mobile doesn't? It's like taking a player because of his strengths and weaknesses, and then just focusing solely on his weakness.

Drew is like a high performance 6 cylindar engine and the linemen are like the spark plugs. Sure Flozell was only one spark plug, but the dyno chart tells the story - the horsepower and torque are lost. It runs like a lawnmower. Time for a serious tune up.
