Drew Bledsoe wonders if Tony Romo's time is up in Dallas

This is Romo's team as long as Romo is healthy. What Dak is doing is outstanding and I hope he keeps it up. This kid as exceeded all expectations and looks to be the future. But he is not in Romo's league as far as being a QB right now. This team is much better with Romo taking the snaps at this point. And the best thing for Dak and the Cowboys is for him to learn from Romo for the remainder of the year. Now I will say, if Romo goes down again, it's over.

On a side note, I don't think anyone is hoping Dak doesn't play well. I am the biggest Romo supporter on here and I want Dak to keep it up and win all the games he can. We are all Cowboy fans and that is what is best for the Cowboys.

A Romo fan, not a Cowboys fan, would want Romo back in there instead of Dak.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to give Romo back the starting job. He is old and injury prone. Dak keeps getting better every week. More confident as well. And we are winning. Why hinder Daks progress as a QB by putting in someone who clearly has nothing left in the tank? Makes no sense.

Don't hurt the Romo faithfuls feelings...they cant take it. Where are they btw?
Right here and I couldn't be happier with what I'm seeing out of Dak. This is good for our team but let's take shots at Romo and his "fans."

It's a nice tale but at the end of the day Bledsoe was replaced because he wasn't any good any more. All indications from interviews with Jerry, Stephen and co. is that they remain confident that Tony can hand off to Zeke and throw a bunch of easy passes. Dak is a good soldier and will march back to the bench in a few weeks.
the Jones' jive talk all the time. I think this situation needs to be looked from "what's best for the team" perspective. If Dak continues on this trajectory, how can you break the momentum. Think how disruptive it is to a team to pull Dak out, replace with Romo only to reinsert Dak when Romo goes down next. Further, how rusty will Romo be?

We havent had to really keep up with any team yet, so of course Dak is going to look fine.

Anyone think Dak goes TD for TD with peyton manning for 50 points? No. But Tony does :D
Well from my perspective, you take the good with the bad. Dak has 0 interceptions, which is incredible. But that's how you get the 1 passing TD in 3 games and Dez not even averaging 4 catches a game. You can't separate the two, unless you're 2011 Aaron Rodgers (45 TDs, 6 INTs). Tony could very well have 9-10 TDs against these gas can secondaries, and he would probably have a couple of turnovers as well. I don't know which style is better for the team. You can probably beat a lot of teams either way. But which is better to beat the best teams?

It's all good bro I dig Romo. He's a badass when healthy. Just clowning around.

Bledsoe and Romo are in two totally different categories. For one, Romo hasn't done anything to show he his skills have diminished, other then his health. If he goes out there and doesn't look like "Romo", then I am all for it. But we don't know that yet.

I put this in the other thread last night, Drew Pearson said last night, and he wanted Dak over Wentz, Goff, etc last February I might add, if Dak is doing this well with the offense, what will Romo do? You have to go with Romo. But the experience Dak is getting is invaluable. Awesome stuff folks. It's a great problem to have!

I'll never forget that game. I was so excited to see Romo. We were all primed when he played an entire preseason game in Seattle. He gave the team so much life and enthusiasm. I remember him hitting Crayton with a bullet for a big TD. He made several big plays and also beat Carolina the following week. Romo also showed that night that he has a penchant for turning the ball over and threw at least one really horrible pic. I remember the one on a designed screen. There could have been others.

Dak would be a good team player as would the fans who would pull for two miracles:
1. That Romo stays healthy
2. That he gets his 3rd career win in the playoffs in a decade of postseason futility.

I never thought I'd say it, but it needs to be. It would be a shame to destroy the momentum, and possibly development, happening with Dak right now.

Tony would have this type of momentum as well. IMO we are 3-0 with Tony.

I'm excited about Dak but Romo is the guy to take us to the promise land if we are going to get there.

When defenses tighten up I trust in Romo to make plays in Jason Garretts scheme.. I trust nobody else.

Romo was a damn good QB but his body is breaking down and he can't take hits anymore. I'm still a fan of his but it seems to be the end. The team is larger than any one player and I'm excited for Dak's early success and progress. He's already surpassed my expectations.

I agree but the momentum of what is hopefully the future franchise QB is much more important than the momentum of a guy who is at the tail end of his career, if not THE end.

All your good QB's typically have a career ratio around 2:1 - 2.3:1 TD-INT Ratio.

Lets say average points given up on a turnover is 4.5.

Thats 14 points earned to every 4.5 points given.

I'll take the 10 points easily.

Regardless of the debates we have on here... Jerry is financially and I believe emotionally invested in Romo.

Like Dak said.. It's Romo's team.

I think if Romo gets hurt again he will be the one who makes the decision to give Dak the reigns... The Cowboys won't do it because the organization feels guilty for putting JErry's ego ahead of the team and not giving Tony the supporting cast he deserves because of it.

Dak will benefit from all the mistakes we made with Tony like waiting to get an OL, Run Game, No defense, and horrible coaching.

Still talking about Romo . Some of you seem to think the body can bounce back forever, it doesn't work that way. There's only so much it can take then its done, Romo is very close to that point. :hammer:
