Romo haters are either one of two things:
Incredibly football stupid
or
closet Eagle/Skin/Giant fans

Some fans believe whatever they hear on national media outlets. That's all they know.
Bull.
They believe they see failure.
And it happens on their TV's- in front of their collective faces. Year after year.
Just like you've seen. Unless in your universe the Cowboys have won some more SB's.
And Romo at the center of much of it- for one reason or another.
I'm no Romo hater- I've spent hundreds of posts defending his play.
I'm also not scared to call a spade a spade.
Some posters need to understand that there are some people who criticize Romo who aren't guys who only play Madden, or listen to ESPN or the outside media who are looking for attention.
Some people see the failure laying in front of them and see the QB in the center of the action.
Not once.
Not freakishly three times...
Over and over and over and over... seemingly every single year.
Burma can zing out his "you hate Romo and you're an idiot" faster than Eastwood with a pistol, but c'mon. He's a good QB, but who trusts this guy to pull it out beyond all hope?
Against three, maybe four of the toughest teams they can face week after week- that's the playoffs...
That should be a thread although it would be a short one. Who here truly believes that Romo can pull it out, that he can manipulate the game to win despite everything that could go against him? Against the best- week after week? At least 3-4 weeks (playoffs).
To consistently make the right play? To direct HIS team to DO IT. Who? Why?
This perception is no red herring. It's real. and until it's no longer real, it's REAL.
No zinger about being "football stupid" is going to change it.
But please- those zings make this a better place...

i thought only our guy chokes in meaningful games?
Coming Through In The Clutch
Tony Romo has been heavily criticized throughout his career for crucial mistakes that have contributed to Dallas' late-season collapses. But since Romo became the Cowboys' starter in 2006, only Peyton Manning has more game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime.

Romo played in four playoff games. One lost due to fumble on a field goal which wasn't even a QB play, one lost where he played really good in against the eventual SB champs that beat an 18-0 team, one won in a blowout against the Eagles, and one lost in which a sieve of an offensive line couldn't protect him against a Minnesota rush. Romo's choker label is entirely over-exaggerated media creation that burdens a team's lack of success on the QB's shoulders.
Destroyed their argument
It drives me in sane man. Every QB chokes, no QB can win every play off game, every year, and win the Super Bowl every year. But a person who ALWAYS chokes will be labeled a choker. That's not hard to understand. And why argue against it. All he has to do is prove me and everyone else wrong. You pay me 108 mil, I would bite people, slap team mates, sleep on the coach, live at VR, whatever I have to do to become a winner. Jerry paid Romo because of the numbers he puts up, not because he's a winner.
Jerry already admitted that entertainment is more important than winning (in my words).
Last I checked....today was 1) a game in december. 2) A 'win or done' game 3) about a tough of a situation you want to be in in 4th and goal from the 10....
And he didn't choke. So....
He doesn't ALWAYS choke.
Yet he get NO credit from people like you. Comical.
How about you research my history for today, the part where I give Romo credit several times today. What's comical is you putting your foot in your mouth. What's not comical is people getting giddy after beating (the equivalent) of a 2nd tier College football team today, and then coming here to brag about it. The time to brag is after we make the playoffs, and get to the NFC championship game.Last I checked....today was 1) a game in december. 2) A 'win or done' game 3) about a tough of a situation you want to be in in 4th and goal from the 10....

I agree with what you say. I give credit, but this was against the Commanders defense who are what- 20th at best? Not top 5 or top 3.
And the white-hot lights of the playoffs weren't on. Does that make a difference? I don't really know- I hope it wouldn't.
He obviously doesn't always choke, as a matter of fact he's pretty clutch.
It's the times when he DOES choke though...
And that has to count for something.
