Drew Super Bowl Brees threw 2 costly int's in a loss today

drew super bowl brees threw 2 costly int's in a loss today.

alex smith threw 2 costly int's n a loss today.

joe super bowl flacco has thrown 2 costly int's in what is shaping up as a loss today.

i thought only our guy chokes in meaningful games?

Just stop

That's what I've been saying all year. Great team at home, average on the road.

Home field advantage I think defines the NFC. Seattle at home, probably unbeatable. NO at home, the same. Saints can't hang I don't think on the road and it's a toss up anytime they play on the road. Even Seattle is like that outside the road.

How can I explain this so that in the future, people won't start threads about other quarterbacks. No one ever said Romo was the only one that choked. That's part A. Please remember that for all the thread starters calling out people over Romo.

Next, regardless of what you say about Brees, he's broken a ton of records, not just team records. League records. Please note this too.

Third, he has won a Super Bowl and play off games. To make it to the Super Bowl, you have to be clutch. Not clutch in the regular season, game 5, but clutch in a pressure situation where if you lose, you go home. He had to win a minimum of 3 games against TOP OPPONENTS to win the Super Bowl, with everyone in the world watching.

When Romo does that, then you can talk.

Third, when we say Romo chokes, we are basing this on his ENTIRE career, not just one game, or not just this year.
So if you look at Brees' entire career, he has been clutch enough to win a Super Bowl.

One day, this once proud franchise will stop pretending that a regular season victory against a sub. 500 team is enough evidence to talk trash. This once proud franchise will hope for more than a beat down in the regular season. I refuse to have this mind set, my mind set is Super Bowl or bust. "every year"

I stopped reading at the part about having to be clutch to get to a SB. That is simply not true. The team most likely has to play well overall, or "be clutch," but an individual player, qbs included, can be absolutely terrible and still make it.

I agree. It's really depressing as an NFL fan that if a team has to play in Seattle or New Orleans, the outcome of the game is almost a given. I like that the Panthers won today so hopefully it will keep things more interesting until the championship game in Seattle.

I'm really confused on todays game and if it was meaningful or not. I know it was before we played it, but now I'm not sure. I guess if the Eagles win tonite it will be? But if they lose it wasn't meaningful..but there you enter into the area of the eagles not really trying since its meaningless to them.

If we had lost today and the Eagles won tonight, the Eagles would have won the division tonight and the game next week would not have mattered. If 1) we lost today and the Eagles lose tonight or 2) we won today and the Eagles win tonight, then "technically" the game today for the Cowboys was meaningless. However, at the time the game was played, it was not meaningless due to not knowing the outcome of tonight's Eagles game, so technicalities aside, the Cowboys win over the Commanders was important and meaningful.

I know... my post is dripping with sarcasm. It was a rhetorical question to the Romo realists.

You act like this somehow vindicates Romo but all this does is show that other QBs have choke moments as well, If Romo has 3 picks next week what are you going to say then?

nothing. you wont here from that crew, just like after last weeks game

Some will still find a way to blame everyone but Romo

Yes, please forget it. You'll never change the minds of folks who form opinions based on intelligence and not from 30 second highlights narrated by some talking head trying for headlines.

yea ok, we will look for your intelligence again as soon as Romo pulls another choke job when it hurts the worst. Of course youll be nowhere to be found.

the same drew brees who went 7-9 last year with a defense like the cowboys? the same brees who has 1 sb in 12 seasons as a starter? same brees who has thrown 4 costly picks the last 2 weeks in losses?

think about this, brees and peyton. 2 of the best qbs of our generation and arguably 2 of the best qb's of all time. drew has 1sb in 12 seasons, peyton has 1 in 15 seasons. so 2 sb's in 27 seasons. and people will tell you this team will NEVER win with romo after 6 seasons as starter, despite having less defensive help than any sb champ ever.

The haters are just ignorant. I think they should probably just watch the games instead of the highlights.

Tony Romo has been heavily criticized throughout his career for crucial mistakes that have contributed to Dallas' late-season collapses. But since Romo became the Cowboys' starter in 2006, only Peyton Manning has more game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime.

Most Game-Winning Drives in 4th Quarter or Overtime Since 2006
PlayerGW Drives
Peyton Manning 25
Tony Romo 23
Matt Ryan 23
Drew Brees 23

drew brees is fantastic. and yet, in five years in san diego, he was 30-28.

even great quarterbacks need a supporting cast. and even great quarterbacks are sometimes the goat.
