I think that's an unjustified opinion. You may not like his running style or effectiveness, but you can't say he mails it in.

But then to want to toss Julius aside for Ricky Williams of all people. That deserves a  . Seriously.

I am sorry but I don't see the kind of effort out of him that I see out of marion barber or tony romo. At the end of a game I have zero doubts those guys tried their hardest for the win, I don't get that impression from julius.
I forget which game it was this year but the camera cuts to him and my real honest impression of his facial expression and my own limited lip reading he doesn't want to play for this team anymore. It's just a gut feeling and a judgement call on the guy.

Didn't Reggie Bush have over 1300 total yards and 8 TD's his Rookie year?

Reggie Bush is a hybrid and i'd tap the breaks before saying his game doesn't translate.

Especially only 4 games into this season.

In comparison, Julius Jones has over 1200 total yards.

I'm saying that there are rumblings that maybe the criticisms of Bush's game might have merit.

Obviously, nothing is conclusive one way or the other after 4 games.

But Bush will get the chance to prove who's right or wrong now that McAllister is gone for the year.

So i'm also driving around listening to ESPN radio also, Galloway and Co. They had this marine that called in that is back in town for a week or so. He stated that he saw a couple of Iraqi's with Romo jerseys there in Iraq. He also stated that his squad had 51 out of 65ish Cowboy fans. Others being Cincy and Raiders fan.

Not only are the Cowboys "America's Team" but also "World Team".

GO COWBOYS!!!

Then what do you do when Rickey gets suspended again and you've got only one proven RB? Maybe Thompson could pick up the slack, but maybe he couldn't. You would be throwing away one of the strengths of the team for a wild gamble with really low odds, IMHO.

yup I would, I know my opinion isn't popular but I don't want julius on the team anymore, he really bothers me when I think about it. I literally have seen cut shots of his face in games and cussed at him. I can't make anyone understand my veiws, my gut just tells me he isn't worth the roster spot.

I like thompson as a RB too though. I would honestly rather a rotation of barber and thompson than julius getting a single snap. Thompson plays hard for the team and gets fired up when he does well, I don't see that in julius.

Nah crap.

Hes a bigtime special player though and I guarantee that translates to the pros.

what a guarantee. : )

so what if he doesn't? what do you "guarantee"? that we can have our draft picks back and redo that draft? you'll buy out mcfaddens contract? a guarantee from you or i is pretty useless isn't it? i mean how do you intend to back that up?

just makes your point less...um...tangible when you go off and do that.

Not sure what games your watching this year, because though it's not reflected in stats, he's running harder than I've ever seen him. Probably about as hard as Barber, but he's a different type of runner than Barber. Barber, IMO, gets alot of style points. He runs hard and runs over people, making him seemingly more effective.

I don't know that your opinion is really about being unpopular, it's about being illogical and a touch irrational. It's one thing to dislike a player, but it's another to dislike him and want somebody like Ricky Williams over him.

After this year, you won't have to worry about Julius anymore, he'll be gone.

I would take a free agent off the street over julius at this point, I don't think he wants to play for this team anymore. I would rather you tote the rock than julius(completely serious) I don't think he wants to be a cowboy and that is enough for me to hate him. I am gonna look for clips on youtube of him if they exist from this season, hopefully to point out why I feel the way I do.

I agree. No way does crack head belong here.....

I'm just worried Ricky is looking for a pay check because he has never shown that football means a heck of a lot to him. I know some would say he will not get much and that is true but NFL minimum is more than I think Ricky could make in the working class world.

Like I said, just a wee bit irrational.

If the team doesn't want him, why should he want to play here? He's playing for a bigger check. Sometimes the business side of the NFL interferes with the fandom. Trust me, he'll get a big check elsewhere next year, and like all ex-cowboys, I'll wish them the best.

No need for vids on youtube, you're going to feel how you feel.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but Reggie Bush was a bigtime special player in college and his game has yet to translate to the NFL.

I hate to say it. No wait, I love to say it. Reggie is a small guy. Not much bulk to him. Just pure speed with some moves. I said it when he was at USC and everyone was gushing over him, and I will say it now, he is a "utility" back. Not an every down RB. Not a franchise RB.

McFadden reminds me more of a Stephen Jackson, whom we happened to pass on to get Julius. Jackson, minus his latest injury definitely translated his game to the speed of the NFL.

Eddie, McFadden has much more potential, upside, whatever you want to call it that will translate to the NFL level.

Do you honestly think he's going to get a 'bigger check' somewhere else?

If so, based on what?

I agree with you, and I will wish him well just as you will. I just don't want him on this team anymore.
As a matter of fact I hope we win the SB and he has a huge game, if that means he gets paid a ton more, so long as it isn't here.

Leonard Davis was not killing them in Arz and got a pretty big pay check. Some one will over pay in FA to Jones as many FA get over paid.

So it's based on teams being stupid rather than Jones' actual value?

I actually like the guy and keep hoping for him to do well.

But every week that goes by makes him look like just a guy.

I don't think it is being stupid but the nature of FA that teams tend to overpay. As for him doing well I'm always hoping he has one of those days that he has produced against the like of Carolina and Seattle, I don't know what it is about those clubs but Jones seems to have very good days against them. Who knows maybe one of those clubs will make a move next off-season and go after JJ.:laugh2:

Put this in perspective

Lamont Jordan, Derrick Blaylock did less on their original teams than Julius has done here and got a multi-million dollar check. Ladell Betts is a backup and got a multi-million dollar check.

Julius is a proven 1,000 yard rusher. He has some injury issues, but if everything works out, he'll be healthy for two years running. He doesn't have alot of tread on his wheels after four years in the league, especially after sharing the last two with Barber. Trust me, he'll get a big check.

I would look at Al Johnson as an example. He was a 16-game starter here, got beat out by Andre Gurode, played pretty much special teams and still turned that into a multi-million dollar check.

Same here, I was a big supporter of Ricky at UT and felt he would do a great job in the NFL but Ricky has shown where football ranks in his life and it does not appear to be that big of a deal to him.

It is when he runs out of money, apparently.
