DT John Ridgeway

I'm glad that this team did not stop and rely on just Bohanna as a developing1 tech.
They sought out other options and players into the mix.

Maybe ...hopefully Bohanna drastically improves by leaps and bounds, added weight room and peanut butter.
because despite amazing nimble feet and mobility for one such his size, i was not impressed with his play at all in his rookie year.
He did not make plays, zero flashes, he was always on his back, on the ground, moved out of gaps, never made his presence felt was epidome of scrub-JAG.

Yall expect alot of late round d tackles. Ridgeway struggling shouldn't surprise anyone. If I was a betting man I'd bet on the 2nd year late round DT over the rookie

Just wish their improvement options weren't always relegated to end of draft, UDFA and cheap FA.

From a value perspective JR and Clark were my favorite picks and I think will both make an impact.

The hope is that one of these late rounds, and undrafted rookies would actually be guys that were valued and graded higher in rounds on their draft boards
that surprisingly slipped and fell into their hands, much deeper than many thought and projected earlier.

And I'm also good with going after hidden gems that the staff feels that their foundation is something to build off of, given enuff significant developmental
or further medical healing process.

maybe. Club liked Bohanna to draft him later rounds as well as they did Ridgeway this year.
And Quinton already has a year of NFL game experience in the trenches under his belt, and a year of NFL coaching.

Plus he's already into his peanut butter diets and NFL offseason strength - weight room program sessions,
so yeh Bohanna should already be head start a leg up upon Ridgeway.

His lack of athleticism will get exposed on this level...pretty sad we wasted a pick in 5th round...

Yet he fell to end of 5th.

Those mocking him in the 3rd and 4th were probably considering the amount of talent in the average draft class. But this wasn't the average draft class. It was deeper, especially with mid-round talent.

I think Ridgeway takes some time, too. But he can likely find a role here.

I bet he starts at some point and holds the position.

Bohanna is going to be an interesting watch. He and Ridgeway in college were two completely different players. Bohanna was a space eater in college, and wasn't really expected to make plays on the ball carrier. His production looks bad, but thats also because he was a 360 lbs DT who's sole job was to occupy two blockers. I think the idea when he dropped down to 325ish was to be a more traditional NFL 1T. I doubt losing that weight he was as strong as he could be in 2021, and he could come into camp a much stronger player.
