The Eagles value their DL the same way that the Cowboys value their OL. Fletcher Cox is the cog that runs that Eagles DL. It all starts with him.
That whole Eagles DL is salty, and you have that one great piece in the middle of the DL (Cox) that makes it hum.
I think that this signing helps the Eagles, but they could have added a piece in this deep draft class at a fraction of what this signing will cost them.
On the other hand would you rather have this guy that the Eagles just signed or Sean Lee and Jason Witten? Because that's the opportunity cost of our nostalgia.
He wasn't even starting for JAXOverrated
No he wasn't. Bennett played DE.NAH...Bennett was next to him.
Bennett played all over. Some end, some interior. Jernigan played next to Cox too...he is hardly a bum or whatever. But Jackson is not as good as any of them. HE IS GOOD, not great. Too pricey. No he wasn't. Bennett played DE.
Ngata, Jernigan WERE decent..but not the answer. I commend the iggles GM Rosen for trying to get better at least. Jackson is hardly an upgrade over those guys.Bennett isn't a DT and trash versus the run. Big difference in players and what they do best. Philly started off most of the season plugging in that spot with Ngata and anyone else that could stand up, that line just got better.
He didn't play "some end" . He was the starting DE.Bennett played all over. Some end, some interior. Jernigan played next to Cox too...he is hardly a bum or whatever. But Jackson is not as good as any of them. HE IS GOOD, not great. Too pricey.
Nothing unusual about that.Dallas caught sleepwalking again.
It is all fun and games until after the initial frenzy is over and then this franchise starts signing the Deonte Thompsons of this league.Lol, I love the overreaction crowd at the beginning of FA. Comedy with every-single-signing.
LOL, yea...pretty much. it's actually 30M over 3 years...but until the details come out it's impossible to know what it 'really' is.or better yet, all the CAP experts who have said Philly is in cap hell and are in trouble.
not totally true. He played the run fine against us. lol...POINT IS, losing him hurts the iggles. THEY ARE WEAKER TODAY.He didn't play "some end" . He was the starting DE.
Bennett's strictly a pass rusher. He doesn't play the run.
Jackson is defenitely better than Ngata, Jernigan, and the undrafted free agents that played next to Cox last year.
he reportedly graded out poorly against the run, and was disliked by a lot of his teammates...no big surprise there lolnot totally true. He played the run fine against us. lol...POINT IS, losing him hurts the iggles. THEY ARE WEAKER TODAY.
Arguing for the sake of splitting hairs isn't my thing. Im too old for nonsensical crap. Stay on point. Do you think the iggles improved by losing Bennett and signing Jackson to this deal? You know my answer already. He didn't play "some end" . He was the starting DE.

well THAT is no shock. He wasn't a good guy in the lockerroom. Never has been anywhere he has been. BUT on the field, he was a stud.he reportedly graded out poorly against the run, and was disliked by a lot of his teammates...no big surprise there lol
LOL yea right..i thought it was this year we were in cap hell. Eagles will be tight for a few years, but with the fluidity of the cap, cap hell is more myth than reality.Eagles need to make a run now as their cap to resign guys is not going to pretty the next few years and some key cogs will depart. Wentz will be getting a massive increase and $30M per is to be expected.
At least our guys will be under contract and our core intact. Wentz is going to struggle to find weapons that aren't bargain basement signings (kind of like how we tried to do WR this year).
