If the line plays well AND Duce has the heart, vision, durability like Emmitt had, he may turn out very good. As much as people credited the line, ES has AMAZING vision, balance, shiftiness and elusiveness (not Barry sanders level, but still very good) which made him hard to hit which is a big reason he was durable. His short height worked to his advantage behind that line…..Duce may be able to take advantage of that too.

I don't want to get into some stupid debate. But picture this. What if Deuce is just durable. He was in college. It was never even a problem. I realize they are all prone to injury. But there are certain guys that are just built for the game. If he can stay healthy, you're going to be surprised by how much this guy can carry the load. You have to get on the surface to see it. Even Big Nate Newton said it. He said, something along the lines of being apprehensive at first. Then he saw his thighs, and said his thighs are as big as mine, he'll be fine. Then described how truly built he is. I'm paraphrasing there. Jerry is putting his knowledge to use finally. He's finally on top of his game again. And I think it bodes well on him to be working hand-in-hand with a guy who can coach his own son like that. At that height, and have him be such a class act and all that.

It's going to be fun. Because both of these guys can get 12-ish carries a game. Sprinkle in some Dowdle and Luepke and we've got ourselves West Coast Party going on in our backfield.

And by prolific, I mean in Dallas, and that he's going to be in the game a lot, eventually. May take some work. And they shouldn't rush him. McCarthy said it best. He just looks comfortable in there

I also think Jerry's timing with the tag was perfect. He's being well advised by McClay, obviously. But it's good to see them working together.
This is highly irregular, old boi.
Are you sure you want to go out on a limb and make this prediction?

You can’t be tunnel vision and focus on one point. Not accusing you. I’m just saying in general.
You responded to my post, and mine was directly related to the title of the thread.
If the title was "Deuce will contribute greatly to the running game this year," I wouldn't have responded the way I did.
But height usually related to weight. And at his size, Deuce isn't going to have enough mass to sustain the hits he needs to be "one of the most prolific back ever."

I love the optimism but can we let him play in a few real games first? He is pretty small, might not make it through season one in his career. I don’t think het gets as many touches as some think in 2023.

Deuce only has to prove he can handle the pounding of the NFL.

Considering the fact that the Cowboys got Deuce for a 6th round pick, he might surely be considered the steal of the decade. His excellent college record announces that promise clearly enough to make most NFL teams glad to welcome him with open arms. Deuce owns very rare RB talent, aside from his diminutive size. Those even vaguely familiar with him are quite aware of his abilities.

Let’s put away the anointing oil for at least another week or two…and see if he can even play against first team nfl defenses.

I'm pulling for him and eager to see him flash his talent on the field. But I'm not even entertaining the "... most prolific" at least until his eight year in the league.

I love the optimism and recognize his skills, but let’s see how he plays during live games against starting defensive line-ups before he is anointed. I’m hoping he is as good as advertised and most importantly, can maintain his health during the longer NFL season.
Why? We know where shortfalls can be exposed...and the history for allowing NFL levels of growth.

But we are fans and root for success and overcoming to win, that is PART of the job for a fan. We aren't on a path for ultimate truths...just over coming momentum changes....football!
