Doesnt matter who they get. They arent beating this SA team. SA is just so much better

Wade is a shell of even 2 yrs ago
Bosh is overrated

If Miami was smart they would let them both walk and build around Lebron

I think this depends on how well, Parker and Duncan hold up. Both are at the points in their careers where a drastic decline could happen at any time. I like both of those players a lot but it's going to be year to year at this point, IMO.

The Spurs most definitely are. The model franchise for ANY sports team in the world to emulate.

No. If the Spurs were not located in San Antonio, they would not be able to do what they do with their franchise. It's easy to say that they are the model but the reality is that each team is different because of their fan base. The Knicks or the Lakers would not be able to do what San Antonio does and vice versa IMO.

I take nothing away from San Antonio but that model would not work everywhere IMO.

And my man Derrick Rose will be 100% healthy (hopefully) and Dougie McBuckets gonna give him the spacing he needs offensively.... Hopefully, Mirotic comes and plays and pans out.

Why wouldn't a team that bases it's success on playing as a team, sharing the ball, not demanding to score, playing team defense, drafting/acquiring players who aren't selfish and are good character players, etc., etc., etc., not be a good model for other teams to follow? ANY organization could follow this mantra and if successful at doing so, win games. To think otherwise is just laughable. The sad part is people like yourself who don't believe that. I hope there's more out there because it makes it easier for the Spurs to succeed if other teams don't do as the Spurs do.

Because in bigger markets, you wouldn't get away with what San Antonio does in San Antonio. The speed of the lifestyle is different in L.A. or N.Y., for example. Duncan would hate being in either place and I doubt he would stay in either place. For that reason alone, it wouldn't work. Or, are you going to now say that the most unselfish team's most unselfish low key player (according to you), would be a player who would fit in either of those cities?

Duncan is with the Spurs for life. Any team could base their philosophy on the Spurs. The Spurs just don't draft the next highest rated player. They draft players whom they think will fit their philosophy of team basketball, high character players. It doesn't matter where you play if you have a coach, GM and owner that supports the philosophy. The media scrutiny would initially be high, but just like here in San Antonio, the media learned to leave Duncan alone. Those that didn't, never last long.

LOL,this is the most ridiculous thing you have posted by far. The LA and NY media would learn to leave him alone........

Duncan is great, you could make a decent argument for him to be a top 8 or so player of all time, maybe higher and he would be just as great of a player in any city, imo, but to say the NY or LA media would learn to leave him alone is laughable

He's of a high character and one of the best all time players. Why would their media bother Duncan? There's nothing for them to get on him about. Plus, he doesn't listen to the media to begin with. Any of it.

The media left Duncan alone because he played in San Antonio. However, if he played in NY or LA, they would have eaten him up. The point is not if Duncan is a Spur for life. The point is, would he have been a Knick or a Laker for life, had he gone to one of those organizations?

If the answer is no, and I think we both know that the answer is no, then you can't say that San Antonio is the Model for every NBA team. It works in San Antonio and that's great but it wouldn't work everywhere. There is no one size fits all because each team, each city, each fan base is different.

Eaten him up over what? Please explain that.

Over anything. Over his desire not to talk to the media. It really doesn't matter in L.A. or N.Y. Have you ever spent any amount of time in either of those cities? They will rage you on anything.

Duncan has said many times that he doesn't pay attention to the media.

Duncan can say whatever he wants in San Antonio but that's not the same thing as doing it in N.Y. or L.A. Duncan doesn't have 50 reporters camped out on his front lawn every single day in San Antonio. If you live in L.A. and or N.Y, that's what you get and if you say you are going to simply ignore them, they just double down or make up stories until you comment on them. The longer you don't, the more outlandish they are. Eventually, they will start writing about your family and god knows what else. You can't do what you do in San Antonio in L.A. or N.Y. It's just not possible.

Classic example would've been when he was getting divorced and there were allegations of cheating and other stuff. They would've had a field day with it.

You just don't get it. In L.A. or N.Y., you don't think they have Gated Communities? Again, have you ever lived or spent any amount of time in either of those cities?
