Davis looks good early… but that much weight on his frame + wear and tear = short career IMO.

10 years? I’d put his over under at 6 years (unless he really slims down and keeps his conditioning up)

Weirdly enough, the opposite seems to be true. If a NT has the proper commitment, they often end up lasting as long or longer than smaller DTs. Seemingly The bigger the longer.

Big Ted Washington (6-5 365) started 16 games at 38

Vince Wilfork (6-2 325) started 15 games at 35

Pat Williams (6-3 320) started 16 at 38

Haloti Ngata (6-4 340) was an NFL starter until he retired at 35

Casey Hampton (325 at 6’1!) started 16 games at 35.

These are the top end examples, yes, but their size was no detriment to their ability to last in the NFL. A big part of it is likely the unique responsibilities (lack of running/diving/uninitiated contact) of the position. A guy at 6’6 should be able to carry 330-340 lbs much better than those shorter dudes

The Eagles might not have a QB but otherwise they’re a much better run team and roster than the Cowboys. Even with Hurts, if someone put a gun to my head, I’d take the Eagles having a better record this year.

Cowboys look like a Tyron injury away from being a 8-9 team.

That was also the story last year. The Eagles were supposed to win the division. They were supposed to smash Dallas, but after Dallas spanked them that first game, the narrative changed.

The Cowboys will have their hands full with the Eagles. Davis, Jurgens, and Dean oh my. Davis and Jurgens are outstanding. We sure could have used Davis and Jurgens. Too bad that they are on the Eagles.

If Hurts is under center they are beatable!!!
Remember you need to score points to win the game!

Davis was the most intriguing player in the draft to me. Once a Heisman list topper he would be on the sidelines with no explanation so conditioning and endurance were brought into the conversation but no one on UGA's coaching staff ever addressed it and they had an outstanding defense, rode it to the championship.

The player that I am surprised the Cowboys did not take was Nkobe Dean, the closest guy to a young Bobby Wagner in this draft and he had to remind Quinn of Deion Jones, who was his best D player at ATL. There are rumors of an ankle issue with him though.

Just stating facts. The Cowboys are still very good no matter how much you bad mouth them on a daily basis.
Very good as in losing in the playoffs for the last 26 years? I'm tired of one and done. As long as Jerry or eventually Stephen own this team, it's more of the same. Did you forget we were 12-5 and lost the wildcard game? Maybe this year we go 13-4 and exit early...

Davis = Dontari Poe (Dominant on occasion, but laziness will result in some bad games and some bad seasons).
- The Cowboys just need to keep him from being 1-on-1 with the OC.
- I'm not concerned about Tyler Smith or Zack Martin blocking him.
- I'll take Tyler in a Sumo match vs Davis.
- It's 330 pound Larry Allen vs 360+ pound Gilbert Brown. I'll let you guess who won that matchup.

Jurgens: Uber quick but lacked power even in college. Success might be OL scheme dependent.

Dean: Small, slow with injury issues. His college team had NFL DLinemen from 1st string to 3rd string in front of him.
- Before Clark's injury and before info about Dean's injury, I had Clark ranked above Dean.
I always appreciate your insights.
One of my faves.

Their GM had those extra picks because he wasted like 4 picks on Wentz who was a bust… and they got a first round pick to dump him. And they had to eat a ton of dead money to do it.

‘Their GM had another first because he traded back away from the Pitts/Jamar Chase/Sewell/Parsons blue chip prospects and drafted a skinny WR… which he had to do because he chose Reagor instead of Justin Jefferson, and Reagor can’t play.

So that was their additional first round picks. And of course, they had their own high pick because they sucked the previous season.

So, I wouldn’t be bragging about how Howie got those 3 first round picks.

Not bragging, just think howie makes more moves and does a better job getting picks for players he is dumping, as opposed to the jones boys
who rarely get a draft pick for their players.
they got nothing for jaylon, lael, wilson etc.

He got a 1st for wentz which was pretty good considering wentz
was a overall bust. he got rid of him while he could still get a 1st for him. The dead money is gonna happen regardless.
The 2nd one obviously they should have grabbed one of those guys, but if they got a 1st for it , that isnt as bad as making a bad pick with it.

The 3rd comment is irrelevant, they had the pick they had like any team suck or not suck lol. I guess they sucked themselves into the playoffs?

Like Chris Berman used to say ... " this is why we play the game "

While the Philly artwork looks good on Paper .. Lets see how it plays out on the playing field ..

Exactly. No one knows if their picks are 3 bums or 3 first ballot hall of famers. And that goes for every team.
