You saw in the Super Bowl, if you cannot protect, you cannot win in this league no matter who you have at the skilled positions. It's that simple. Eagles OL was one of the worst hit by injuries, even more so then the Cowboys.
That's always been the truth, for as long as this game has been played. Both sides of the lines matter and whomever can control the LOS will win the games at a very, very high percentage of the time.
Truth is, IMO, the team who can sign Wentz and give him a decent OL and some tools to work with is going to get a pretty good QB. Wentz, IMO, has never been better then the top QBs in this league, even in the year they wanted to give him the MVP but, he did play really, really well when he had talent surrounding him. What changed? Well, the contract and the cap implications changed. The talent started leaving for money elsewhere and pretty soon, you had Wentz getting the crap knocked out of him. That changed everything and so, the GM is trying to lay it off like it's Wentz. Well, it might be or it might not be. It might be the contract and the fact that it prevents the team from getting good. Who's fault is that, that's the GMs fault and that's why, IMO, he is not trying to get rid of Wentz and start over. He's trying to shift blame here IMO. Now, Wentz might be done, that might be true but we definitely know that the contract situation is terrible and the Eagles don't have enough talent, to speak of. Both could be true or somebody could be getting a hell of a good deal on a QB if they have everything else.
