I became a fan of his when he got benched in the biggest game of his life and showed how a team player responds to adversity.
Like Dak he is a good dude but gets disrespected by the fans. As soon as he slips up they will turn on him. Side note, there is no way they are drafting a non premium position with their two first round picks.

Almost.

He was a big reason they lost it.
Why? Because of that fumble? He was a big reason they almost won.

Threw for 300. Ran for 70. Accounted for 4 of the Eagles TDs. QB rating of 104. QBR of nearly 80. But yeah. He was the a big reason they lost. Your Philly hate is epic. If Dak had that boxscore in a big game, you'd cream yourself.

All that being said, damn, that contract is nuts. QB deals are getting out of control. At some point, will teams start to think they can just spend on all the other positions and try to get by with a mid-level QB?

I'm sorry but this is just an absolutely ludicrous contract for what Hurts brings to the table. He is a good NFL starter with a unique skillset that requires a good amount of talent around him to have his potential truly maximized. I value that anywhere between $25-40 million (go ahead and move it to the top end since they did just make the Superbowl). $51 mil/year for Hurts' services is going to be a problem for the Eagles in the future.

The Dak contract is bad, but can you possibly view it as the death blow that many make it out to be when players like Danny Dimes and Jalen Hurts are making $40mil/year and $51/year annually in our own division?

He threw the ball well this season if you are referring to that.

But regardless it’s a big deal he was going to get from someone let’s hope it brings them down to earth a bit in terms of cap management and maybe we can take an advantage before we have to extend our quarterback who also requires the perfect team around him…
He threw the ball well within the confines of what they set up for him (lots of throws on the move with elite pass catchers and the best OL in football).

He was 24th in adjusted passer rating under pressure. Dak was 5th for reference.

Does this make the upcoming season of the Dak / Jalen debates more interesting? Now since huge contracts are involved more.
Will double standards apply?
Are the eagles FO still looked at as being very good after after this?

We knew this was coming, and knew it was going to be a huge contract. So will they follow up with a good season though they lost many players. But they do have draft fire power to still build if they hit on their selections.

I still say Dallas regaining control (on paper) of the NFCE as of this point. But the draft looms large for both teams.
We know what the Eagles will have on the field, at least on offense. So can MM get Dak and the offense back on track.

Eagles lost on defense, and are about the same on offense, if they draft an OL & RB.
Cowboys are about the same or better on defense, and fro now lost a little on offense, as too many unknowns. OL, RB, TE. A good draft can at least keep them about the same.
Biggest difference, is Dallas defense is better, Philly defense is worse. Pre draft.

However, all that does not matter, it will still be Dak vs. Jalen as the season progresses.

I promise you is Dak had a fumble to lose a Superbowl he would be crucified. I don't care what his stat line is.

Dak is better than Hurts and y’all know how I feel about Dak.

Casual fan can’t see that right now though because they get caught up in a stat or pff grade.

Once again underscoring how crazy the QB market is. Surely fans understand that the scarcity of QB talent in this league is dictating market prices. Not what QBs have acccomplished.
That’s hard for some to get
As revenue grows, so does the pay of QB’s
If you have a top 15 QB it’s really hard to upgrade him unless you put nothing but trash around him and basically tank
QB is the hardest position to get a top half of the league player and that’s why they cost so much
Even this deal won’t be tops long. 3 big contracts coming for Lawrence, Herbert and Burrow plus someone will pay jackson
It’s just the market

Dak’s a good dude and a good QB.

Unfortunately paying good QBs like they’re elite is a recipe for not winning Superbowls.

Even if Dak won it, and I hope he does, he would be an outlier.

You would think one of these guys would accidentally win it but you just can’t take up that much cap % and expect to win a title.

$50 million per year for a guy that requires an offense be built around protecting his very pronounced weaknesses

Yikes
Uhh….it pains me to defend an Eagle but it’s not his fault they put talent around him. Just because you have talent around you doesn’t mean you can’t produce…
