Eagles re-sign Jalen Hurts

Let’s just see how the egirls brass work the cap compared to the Clampetts and see if there are any differences.

I would never pay a QB in today's market unless they were a bonafide future hall of fame type talent like Burrow or Herbert.
If that’s your attitude you’ll be stuck with a jag at QB with nothing to look forward but a high draft pick every April. Glad you don’t run the team. All Herbert has done so far as put up numbers. His QB record is one game over 500. He was part of the reason his team lost a 27 point lead in the playoffs. So far he’s been Matt Stafford in Detroit.

I like Hurts the person and neither Dak nor Hurts contract influences that feeling at all. We bash athletes for doing the exact same thing we would do if we were in that situation. It’s classic hater mentality.
I don't bash them . . . I bashed Jerry and Now I am Laughing at the Eagles Management

I actually like Jalen. He seems like a good guy. Too bad he plays for Philthy and that cesspool city.

Except San Fran did not even emulate the so called "San Fran" model. They traded for and paid Jimmy G a then record deal. The fact that he got injured so often that they had to draft a new one does not change that.
Alright take the San Fran part out . . . Now do you understand how I feel

Pick one in the first round, play 4 years with them, pick up the 5th year option, turn and burn if they are good but not great. Build a contending roster around the player and just slot in the next 1st rounder. After enough tries, you should have gotten lucky and gotten one of those top guys or have won a Superbowl with a good starter on a cheap rookie deal.

Why NFL GMs are too afraid to emulate the SanFran model is very confusing to me.
that strategy is not a winning strategy. 80% of first round QBs fail. and the ratio is even higher for those drafted in bottom third of the round. Burrow was the #1 over all pick. so you have to suck really bad before having a chance at #1 over all pick. and depending on the year you end up with a Burrow or a Mayfield.

so if anyone takes that approach, they end up in an endless cycle of recycling QBs and not winning anything. no rookie QB has ever made it to the supebowl, so you end up with a 4 year window at best.

and lets say you get a Mahomes or Burrow. are you suggesting not to resign them? and go draft another QB? makes no sense.

and SF model? it hasn't worked. they are not winning because of their QB. they are winning because of their defense. and lets not forget, then traded up to draft Lance, only for him to get hurt. Purdy was just pure luck. what are the chances of a 7th rounder succeeding like he did.

and outside of SF, which is the exception...where else has this worked?

you can't build a roster and a winning team, based on exceptions. and they didn't win it. by the same token, Rams traded, paid a QB highly and won it.

Daks contract is a bargain considering what he's paid compared to others. Might I remind everyone that Hurts is 0-2 against Dak.

Let me do the logic

40 million better then 50 million . . . because 40 million beat 50 million 2x

Wow aren't Cowboy Fans blessed . . .

As opposed to a Jag with a Mid Round selection every year . . . MTay

So he plays on last year of current deal and new deal takes effect in 2024 or he gets money now?
Gets get 101mil at signing. But he only counts 4mil on the cap in 2023. Numbers haven't come out on yearly cap hits yet
