Still can’t believe they fired the guy who took them to 3 straight NFC championship games. Eagles are so ungrateful
Andy’s last 2 seasons as Eagles coach were 8-8 and 4-12, and there was concern, despite all the NFC championship appearances, that he couldn’t win the big one.
Management also felt that his DC coordinator Johnson was a big factor in the team’s success and when he passed and the team struggled they decided It was time for a change.
Hindsight is always 20/20, the fans and management got spoiled by the success of the team and the bar was raised and neither had the stomach for a rebuild and retool of the team.
Would you rather have an owner who lacks patience with mediocrity and losing or one who’s willing to be patient with a staff that hasn’t delivered?
For the record, I was in the minority and thought Andy deserved at least another year and Pederson also, but if getting to the big game is now the measure of success then coaches are going to be on short leases in Philly.
