We already know he’s a good player. If he has a pretty good year, Howie will get a modest longterm deal out of him and we have our safety over the next 3-4 years.

If he has a really good year, Howie can say we’re too tight on cap to keep him, he goes out and makes bank & we get at least a 4th round comp pick in 2024.

Do you think Jerry always get the bad end on trades because he's so easily fooled and most NFL GMs know this?

The Cowboys NEVER do things like this. The Eagles aren't really losing anything worthwhile but gaining a good player in return.

If we sweep Philly, it will be because our defense is improved and their offense is led by Hurts IMO. The Eagles have had a good offseason and are continuing to build on that, but the biggest question is whether their QB is going to be better.

So basically bunch of hedged bets. If they win the division we suck if we win Hurts sucks. Lol

Aside from the qb position the eagles have a loaded roster. Watching a real GM try to improve his team is painful to watch knowing ours has zero clue

Howie uses every tool at his disposal to try to improve. Now granted, he ain't the best drafter out there (Reagor, Dillard, cough, cough) but he typically understands where he has a hole (or created a hole) and tries to fix it. People were talking they were in a long rebuild after spitting out 4 wins a few years ago. Two years later, they have a stacked roster that might be a QB away from being one of the best teams in the league (and shoot, they won 9 games last year with a mediocre Hurts - they have a weak *** schedule this year too).

No because most of the roster moves the NFCE teams will make are fringe moves for bottom of the roster type guys. But the Eagles traded for a starting safety today, a position that was one of the few holes remaining on their roster other than maybe QB.

Barring Hurts absolutely sucking titties or a rash of major injuries to the Eagles, if the Cowboys sweep them again, that's an impressive feat. That Eagles team has a high level roster now, especially along the DL and OLs. You sweep them, you've done good.
