Eagles vs Bears - Black Friday Thread

At this point, it's all the same for us. We have to win out period, and hope for others to collapse.

If they win out, we still have to hope for some collapses. We're totally not in control.

I agree, but we are only two wins away from matching Philly, as well as all the wc teams. Why not go for the division?

Going for 2 made zero sense.

If you miss the 2 now you have to kick an onsides.

If you take 1 there you don’t need to worry about recovering an onsides kick. Yiu kick deep, play D and hope for a stop. You get the ball back with over a minute, no TO’s needing 8.

Taking 1 keeps you in the game longer,
Fine. You kick the ball off and you hold the offense. Then, you go down and score as time is running out, but miss the two-point conversion. Same boat but no knowledge that you needed to conserve as much time as possible because you needed to get the ball back one more time.

I'd rather know what I needed as early as possible so you can plan a course of action. Because the Eagles missed the two-point conversion with three minutes left, they knew they needed an onside kick, to kick a FG as soon as feasible and try to onside kick again.

Take the extra point and you're down by eight, all you know is that you need to score. You have no idea if you'll need to score again.

Not attempting the extra point seems to assume that if you attempt after the next TD that you'll make it. There's no other option there.

Dang, Bears playing good football. Pretty impressive considering they started out 0-2. Ben Johnson looking to be a good hire for them.
And we didn't even want to interview him.

But then again we're 6-5-1 now. So it worked out for both of us.

I dont disagree... we clearly are better at home, but we were damn good at home in 2023 also.

Yes, but compared to them, I think Schotty has a pulse on this team. I liked McCarthy, do not misunderstand me. However, I think with what Schotty has been doing, this team knows what they're doing. I think the fight from what happened is MUCH different.

I think the difference between the 2023 Cowboys vs the 2025 Cowboys is that I think the 2023 Cowboys were resting on their laurels and were extremely soft inside. Hence how when we played a team that could run the ball like Green Bay, Arizona, and Buffalo, we gave up 400+ on the ground. Conversely, since we got Q, we have gotten so much better at stopping the run. Do I think we are Super Bowl contenders? Not yet But if we are going to have a chance, we must win the first game to start. Would you rather start at home or go.on the road week one? I think I'd rather start at home.

If you miss the 2 like they did you are reliant on an onsides kick which is less than a 5 % chance.

Going for 2 there put the entire game on that 2. Taking 1 extends the game.

Nashon Wright is a player now, fans here are so impatient with young guys.
To be fair, he sucked here for long enough. His first contract would have been up and he would have left before finally figuring things out like he has in Chicago. Need players to show their value within four years at least.

I think you are reaching for fool's gold. Miss the two, whenever you miss it, and the game is over. Missing it early lets you know how far behind the eight ball you are. Missing it late just means that you found out what you would have known three minutes earlier, that the game is over.

You are reliant on the onside kick whenever you miss the two-point conversion. Missing it early means you can try to plan around it. Missing it late means you probably don't even have time to try it.

I think you are just mad that they didn't get the conversion.

Ya sometimes these reactions in here are hard to predict sometimes they aren’t

I would think 99% of the fan base would know that we’ve needed one for a long time not sure why they’d attack you for that
Me either but they did.

It's my preferred outcome for sure. Fingers crossed.

Though I still don't think we're a playoff team. I'm snake bitten with the team. If they win in Detroit.. well I'll start believing it's possible.

I think we're a playoff team if we had this team right now all season. We for sure beat GB and Eagles1. Unfortunate, it feels like too little too to me. BUT we still have a chance.

This fan base has been beat down for 30 years. Its reasonable that they are pessimistic about everything... to the point that you could sign 11 all pros in their prime and some fans would still find ways to complain about it.

Jalen Hurts is like McDonald’s

If you rate McDonald’s hamburgers on any of the scales that define a quality hamburger, it’s going to rank very very poorly. Bun consistency, meat freshness, condiment quality, size, healthiness, sear, juiciness, whatever. McDonald’s does not make very good hamburgers; but what they do make is really good McDonald’s. It’s not really a hamburger as much as a weird meat sandwich they sell that tastes really good.

If you ask Jalen Hurts to run Matt Ryan’s offense or Philip Rivers’ offense or Drew Brees’ offense or even Dak Prescott’s offense, it’s probably gonna look like this. But if you ask Jalen to run what works for him, it’ll be cheesy and unconventional and sometimes even impractical… but it has worked, really well up until this year. Weird, poorly rated burgers are super popular for a reason.

Kevin Patullo just doesn’t understand what that is supposed to look like
lol, that took some deep reflection in the issue. Big Macs still taste good, even though ur right and they are weak sauce quality.

Translation: Schottenheimer is impressive and Sirianni should be on the hot seat.
I am curious as to what kind of coach Sirianni is. He seems to be a walk-around coach who is completely dependent on who he has as coordinators. He has good ones and the Eagles do good. He has bad ones and the Eagles struggle.

Does he have no role on offense or defense?

I mean, No-Schott is an offensive guy. He brought in Klayton Adams to help with the run schemes, but this offense is his.

After getting to 2 SBs. You would only hope that Pickens becomes that kind of cancer
I won't disagree. I'll trade two Super Bowls for Pickens becoming disgruntled and a distraction. However, since I can't stand your team and want mine to succeed, I would love for him to implode your locker room this season so we might can steal the East.

You’re not wrong, but…

According to the analytics, you should go for two, because the odds are the same either way. The thing is, if you don’t get it the second time, you probably don’t have any time left because you’re planning for only one possession. By going for two the first time, you know how many possessions you need and can plan accordingly.
