Eagles vs Bears - Black Friday Thread

You’re not wrong, but…

According to the analytics, you should go for two, because the odds are the same either way. The thing is, if you don’t get it the second time, you probably don’t have any time left because you’re planning for only one possession. By going for two the first time, you know how many possessions you need and can plan accordingly.
I know the analytics say go for 2 but I don’t agree with it. I would rather keep myself in the game as long as possible.

Taking 1 makes it a one possession game. Getting the 2 does the same

Missing the 2 means it’s still a 2 possession game,

I’d rather make it a one possession game even if it means a TD and 2 to win.

The Cowboys are 3 games behind the Bears (wildcard) and 3 games behind the Eagles (division).

At the moment, if the Bears collapse and lose 3+ games and the Cowboys win out, they would overtake the Bears for the (at that time) 7th seed.

If the Eagles collapse and lose 3+ games and the Cowboys win out, they would win the division and would likely have the 3rd or 4th seed and a home game.

What matters most about the Eagles-Bears game is that whoever loses it needs to keep losing games the rest of the season to help the Cowboys.

I just hope whoever loses looks really bad in the loss so hopefully it makes them more likely to lose more games in the coming weeks.
Well I did realize this game was on today lol
but bears won 24-15 So maybe the eagles will lose 2 more? that would be great if dallas could win the div !.
If dallas beats det , that helps chi too.
I guess I will root for det and GB to lose now. and the eagles too.
Key is for dallas to just win in det, this loss by the eagles should motivate them to try hard in det.

That was my point ... without analytics. I prefer going into it knowing whether I need two more possessions or just one, so I would have tried the two-point conversion too.

Would have been just as awful to score the TD and extra point, get the ball back and score again only to come up short on the two-point try with no time left.

Does coming up short kill momentum and the crowd though?

Also, need Seattle to finish 2-4 (possible) and us to finish 4-1. Bears winning hurts a little.

I understand your point. It’s one of those instances in which the math seems to be missing a key point.

The clock struck twelve and the bears have reverted to a fat guy in a bear suit.

It's my preferred outcome for sure. Fingers crossed.

Though I still don't think we're a playoff team. I'm snake bitten with the team. If they win in Detroit.. well I'll start believing it's possible.

I think we're a playoff team if we had this team right now all season. We for sure beat GB and Eagles1. Unfortunate, it feels like too little too to me. BUT we still have a chance.

Oh I understand that for sure. But, if we manage to make it in, I don't think we're a team anyone will want to face. Naturally, it would be easier if we win the division though. Considering that Philly only has two more wins than we do and we have a draw, I don't think it's as daunting as we thin. They've got 8 wins. We have 6 plus a tie. All we have to do is be level with them on wins by the end of the season, and we get the division because of our draw.

It was over but you’re too invested in hating me to realize it. I’ve got you so triggered you’re now rooting for the Eagirls!
Are you that ignorant that you think I want the iggles to win? Tell you what, find me one post of mine that says I want them to, and get back to me. I will wait, or NOT, lol

Well you stuck up for them when it was obvious they were going to lose

I love annoying the haters. They certainly deserve it. Finally you get it.
I got it a long time ago, I just don't understand the fascination about it

That's right Jalen, tell us who you like riding your behind? Inquiring minds all over the US want to know about this critical piece of information. Who knows, it might come up on Jeopardy one day.

BECAUSE HE’S AND EAGIRLS FAN! THAT’S WHAT GOOD COWBOYS FANS DO! Sorry I hurt your precious little feelings.
When did he come out as an Eagles fan? If so, I guess I missed it. That being said, the game wasn't over lol

Not sure how much it hurts. It depends on a lot of things, depending, of course, with how Philly does from here. Losses to the Chargers and Bills could put us back in division title contention if we win out.

Not saying that's going to happen, but it's at least fun to think about. Chicago's not out of the woods yet either. It has two games against Green Bay, one against Detroit and one against the 49ers.

Right now, the Seahawks, 49ers and Packers are the three wild cards, so we just need one of them to falter (or replace one of those with the Bears) and we're in with or without winning the division.

As far as killing the momentum, I don't know. I don't put much into that. The probability of success wasn't that high. I'd just rather know where I stand going into those final three minutes instead of not knowing the degree of urgency. I mean, if you scored the other TD and get the two-point conversion, you don't want to do it as fast as possible because you don't want to leave time on the clock for Chicago to possibly get in FG range. But if you score and miss the two-point conversion, you need to have as much time as possible to onside kick and try to get into FG range.

They look fat & happy they won the SB why bother repeating . Chicago ran them out of the gym
