There's always a few that don't get it. I'm starting to see this kind of thing as possibility generational and purely internet bound behavior. Acting that way in public is a sure fire way to not win friends and influence people.

i see it as young and growing up. w/o experience words are pretty meaningless, written or otherwise.

I've seen plenty of fans (in the real world) rejoice when a good player on a rival team gets hurt... and nobody said anything to them. It seemed pretty normal to be happy that a competing team lost a good player for eight weeks, or however long.

Once the internet arrived though... it was suddenly taboo to voice any such emotions. Of course most people still feel the same way, but now they say how sorry they are and how they want to face their advisary at full strength.

Whatever, as far as I'm concerned. What happens, happens, and while I don't like to see anyone pulling for injuries... I dislike fake, politically correct sympathy even more.

Not directing this post to anyone in particular... just voicing how I feel about the subject.

Agreed.

That fact is that if this is a major injury for Brown, then it hurts the Eagles a great deal and gives the Cowboys even more advantage in 2008.

a lot of people say strange things in the real world and no one says anything. maybe it's just easier online. but real world or written, i just got better things to do than revel in someone elses misery.

I fully agree with you; but I make an exception for an eagle.

If Brown is indeed gone for the year, expect a big move to be made. They have Lito Sheppard and a number 1 pick, which is a nice package.

I saw an article where Lito was commeting on statements made by Lurie about his YPA numbers not being so good.

So I don't expect those two to go out for dinner any time soon....

Then again, with Samuel not looking so hot (and hurt!) maybe they're not so eager to give Lito the boot at this point either.

I doubt I'll be the only one to laugh at that injury. Complain if you want. I'm not a mod but I can laugh at injuries like I want. And trust me I will.

I'm hoping you're twelve otherwise......

I would hope so. The alternative would be more troubling.

Not sure who you hang with but where I'm from people cheer when an injured player for the opposing team gets up and returns to the game. They don't cheer when there's an injury or be callous and obnoxious about it. There is always a few jerks who revel in someones injury. Everywhere and most everytime.

My last post on this topic and others for some time.

Then don't laugh.

I will though. And so will the other poster if he so chooses.

I failed to see it in the rules where we weren't able to.

But thanks for being Mr. Board Spokesman.

Thank God "fans" like this do not represent the majority of Cowboys nation.

I agree-I HATE injuries. I don't care how much I hate the team, etc, etc. For example, during the Skins' first week of TC, I ended up getting lumps in my throat. Really-what IF that had happened to us?

As for the Eagles, while I get lumps in my throat too, at the same time, especially considering their fans just go on and on how they're wishing, hoping, and [insert Annie DeFranco song] for Romo, TO, and the rest of our players to get injured, ultimately...I won't shed a tear when something happens to their players. At least Skins and Giants fans will show respect.

for me, i don't show respect to get it, i show it because it's the right thing to do. i can control what i do. not them.

It'd be hilarious if Reggie Brown gets a staph infection and dies.
I'm still chuckling over the whole Sean Taylor comedy from last season. It's because I'm die-hard and not afraid to tell it like it is.

I'm lazy and don't want to read the whole thread. Was an injury confirmed?

The odd thing about this is that even the Eagles message board has said NOTHING on this.(Not just the main one, but others around the net as well) You would think a fan base that just obsesses over their teams 24/7 would at least have some inkling idea about it.

I posted an article on it(where it eluded to it at the bottom of that link) on a previous page. But other than that and Ike Reese at WIP, they're sure keeping quiet about it.
