News: Earl Thomas may not play?

A "personal" situation is pretty doggone vague. It could be any number of things behind this.

It surely peaks my curiosity, though!!! Could it mean he'll be coming to us after Sunday? ;)
Rumor has it is his wife is having baby or real close to it.

He posted a picture yesterday of him at “work”. The report says this is like his second missed practice. Why was he there if he was dealing with personal issues. I think Seattle is holding him out and could deal him right before game so he won’t get to play. They let him go but he won’t play against them.

I think it’s important to pay attention to the details. He didn’t practice Wednesday or Friday, but he was present at practice. Non-injury related.

Tea leaves say the trade goes down on Monday. If he had some family issue then he wouldn’t have been present at practice. I’d speculate that Seattle agreed to the trade on the condition that he not suit up against them.

What else makes sense here?

We have no bigger need than FS.............not even close
Absolutely disagree...I would rather have a Tight End then a Safety that the Cowboys already have...Earl Thomas doesn't make this team any better...I like the guy but they are good enough there

We don't have a free safety. Not one. Just guys getting to play out of position there.
Ok but does Earl Thomas make them any better? No...The Defense isn't the problem...So I wouldn't trade for a guy that the Cowboys don't need

Earl Thomas will play, and will destroy our offense .

He wants the cowboys to sign him , and he will make a point .

He makes them TONS better. He's an elite center field safety, something Dallas hasn't had since the 90s.

He's like Sean Lee in the secondary.

This defense goes from dang good to dominant. Don't be fooled by these weak offenses so far Dallas had played.

Showing up for practice but not practicing for “personal reasons”. The whole thing is so bizarre.

That’s like you telling your boss that you can’t work for personal reasons but showing up to the job and watching everyone else’s work.

Literally the only explanation that makes any sense is that a trade is imminent and the receiving party (not necessarily the Cowboys, by the way) don’t want to risk his injury.

Hmmm. Wondering about if the team or organization would want him playing due to the situation at hand. I DO NOT think he would throw the game or anything. But he will be watched by a lot of people. If Dak was to hit a long pass and ET was burned or out of position then people will talk. Lol. People will talk anyways though.

Maybe a team has an offer they like and don’t want to risk losing that offer by him playing on Sunday and getting hurt.

But they don't need him. He's a good player but they need a Tight End more than a Safety that will be overpaid in a couple of years. I like Thomas but go get a guy that helps this team. A Tight End helps this team more than a Safety

This whole E.T. drama is too much ...

Seahawks should just trade him, he doesn't want to play for them .

My guess is Jourdan Lewis, Rico Gathers, and a 3rd for Thomas.

Richard hates small corners.

I would be FURIOUS if we gave up all that. Jourdan might not fit our scheme but he’s a good young corner. And we need to play Rico to see what he’s got...not sell low.

All Seattle is giving us in return is (at the most) 13 weeks of Thomas.

If it was because of this, Carroll would have been able to say something about it. No reason to be secretive there. Plus, why would he be at the facility rather than being with his wife

Something else going on.

he wants to be a cowboy...that's the issue. It prolly don't sit well with Paul Allen...look for him to be traded in 2 weeks.
