Even after the car wreck he made 1st team All Pro twice and made the Pro Bowl 3 times.

williams was no slouch in college either....but again today he got 2 penalties and 1 stopped a drive....the other was a bad call by ref but still....Williams needs to get stronger so he does not have to hold.

Erik Williams was a pure beast and opposing defenders knew it....i remember one playoff game where Williams shut down Reggie white like he was a back up...but back then also it was legal to cut down

players...go low at knees....Erik Williams had no problem using that...it did cause many to get ticked at him...he did not care...you dont like it change the rules!!!...which NFL eventually did

For the younger generation here at CZ I just wanted tell some 'war stories'.

In the early nineties the Cowboys had multiple players that could be featured on youtube videos completely dominating much like the videos of Micah Parsons.

• Emmitt: Juked defenders out of their jock on a routine basis.
• Aikman: Probably the most accurate QB in history.
  • To his WRs "Do you like the ball at the top, middle or bottom of your Jersey number...
• Irvin: Perfect route running and bullied DBs.
• Erik Williams: Pre car-wreck as good or better than any OT ever. Mean & nasty.
• Charles Haley: Has 5 Super Bowl rings. NFC player of the year twice in his career.
• Darren Woodson: The team was so stacked in 92 that he only started 2 games.
  • He could play any position from Nickel CB to LB.
• Ken Norton Jr: The best Cowboys LB (non 3-4 OLB) since 93 until Parsons arrived.
• Larry Allen: Only Super Bowl was 95 but un-disputed most dominant OG ever.
• Daryl Johnston: His picture is probably in the dictionary next to the word Fullback.

• They had backups that were better than most Cowboys starters from the past 2 decades.
  • Leon Lett: Aaron Donald type quickness on a 6-6 300+ frame.
  • Chad Hennings: Reported to have benched 600 pounds. Brick wall vs the run.
  • Jimmie Jones: Would be a starter on this year's team.
  • Jim Jeffcoat: A backup in 92 & 93. Has 102.5 career sacks.

You're right that Jimmy would have eventually left, but I believe Jerry hastened the departure by at least 1 and possibly 2 years.

More than enough time to win at least 3 in a row and possibly 4.

Possibly, but it was Jimmy disrespecting Jerry that caused the rift between them. Sure, Jerry wanted more credit than he deserved, but as the employer who saw Jimmy's potential and hired him, he deserved to be treated with more dignity than Jimmy showed him. Everyone wants to put the blame on Jerry, but it just wasn't like that.

I've never met a Cowboy player but have met a few famous actors. I'm the same way with autographs and they've always seemed relieved that I didn't ask for one or get weird. Back when they trained at St. Edwards, I saw a bunch of the Cowboy players at the Yellow Rose in Austin. I think it was mostly the offensive linemen, but I left them alone despite my internal fanboying. Their attention was elsewhere.

Same. I've met a few athletes, actors, and singers. I never asked any of them for autographs. I tried to be 'cool' and act like meeting them was just like meeting anyone else. Usually ended with a handshake and a smile. Two exceptions were Tommy Morrison and Bruno Mars. Tommy had just TKO'd Razor Ruddock and I had an all access pass. He was obviously in a good mood so I asked to take a picture with him in the locker room because he was my favorite boxer. Bruno is kind of the opposite. I knew Bruno back when he was a 6 year old little Elvis impersonator and spent lots of time with him when he was growing up, so interacting with him truly is no big deal cuz, well...it's just my little buddy Bruno. lol

Agree, but pre accident the Big E got my vote. What I loved about him was he was Nasty & Mean, just ask Reggie White and William Fuller from the egirls when he gave him a Bolo punch on top of his helmet. The next day (monday) at work me and my co worker also a boys fan we both were laughing about the punch. John Madden always loved him some BIG E.

All statements are very accurate. Emmitt Smith was an amazing athlete to watch, much like Lebron James - they’ve accomplished INCREDIBLE things in their careers and yet they don’t get the respect they deserve (from a large portion of fans). Emmitt holds a record that will never ever be broken and it’s one of the best records to have in all of sports (most rushing yards in NFL history). People can talk about Jim Brown & Barry Sanders all they want but to me they’re a tier below Emmitt and Walter because longevity freakin matters. It’s as simple as that. Emmitt is hands down the Goat, there has never been a more COMPLETE back in the nfl and the record books don’t lie… People do.

Lets go way back to longest Dynasty in NFL History:

1. Roger Staubach - HOF, Cowboys leader in Super Bowl appearances, retired as the NFL all time leading passer
2. Harvey Martin - the true all time leader in sacks during a season, and sacks by a Dallas Cowboy
3. Randy White - HOF DT, 6-4-250, 4.5-4.6 40yd time, chase WR +50 yards down field and caught him from behind, no angle.
4. Thomas Hollywood Henderson - 4.4 40yd time, predicted he would pick six the Rams in the NFC Championship game and did it. Has pick 6 and KR TDs.

13. Bullet Bob Hayes - Still considered the fastest man in the world ever after winning Olympic Gold, changed NFL defenses to zone coverage, still has Cowboys records as WR and KR. HOF WR.
14. Lee Roy Jordan - the model for MLB in Landry's 4-3 defense, ROH LB, one of Bear Bryant's favorite players.
15. Bob Breunig - Unsung Pro Bowl MLB, the only MLB to play in the most Super Bowls and NFC Championship games.
16. Tony Hill - Pro Bowl WR that actually retired as the Cowboys all-time leading WR before Irvin.
17. Bob Lilly - is the reason true Cowboy fans misspell lily. HOF DT, 1st Dallas Cowboys no.1 pick that earned the nickname "Mr. Cowboy".
18. Cowboys of the 60's, 70's and early 80's only had 3 starting Centers, 2 starting MLB, 2 starting LDT, 2 starting LT, and 1 Head Coach. Only team to play in a Super Bowl with the no.1 offense, no.1 defense, and both offense and defense game planned/coordinated by one Head coach.

The Dynasty of the 90's only lasted 4 years. The Cowboys original Dynasty lasted 20 years.

This Dallas Cowboys era earned the title "America's Team".
