You could have said the same thing with AJ brown last year going to a team with Watkins, DeVonta, Goedert, Miles. One of the best run games in football. 1500 yards later…

Great Players are worth throwing to
You think Ridley is on Browns level?

5 feels a bit high
I disagree. I think 5 is about right and if Gallup is back to who he was before the injury I think we are even better. Look at the Eagles at #4. They only have 2 playable WRs. Crazy to have them that high. Same with Miami but their two are both legit top dogs so a little different I guess. And look right below us at AZ. I sure wouldn’t move them above us either. It’s not about top 2. It’s about your overall receivers.

We must have a better #4 than Tolbert or Turpin...

Why does this team only draft a WR in the first 4 rounds only once every 8 years, or whatever it is. Seems like it anyway

Regardless, aside from Dez and Lamb, who have they drafted who is a player? Gallup I suppose.

They seem to be primarily basing it on each team's top two, so the fact that Lamb and Cooks are our top two gives us a strong grade. I think there would be some shifts if stronger consideration was given to the top three. But essentially for this rating, just look at each team's top two and having us at five looks pretty fair to me. Lamb was sixth in receptions and yards last year. Cooks was a little lower than he usually is with 57-699 but he missed some time. The previous year, he had 90 receptions (15th) for 1,037 yards (22nd).

They used a #1 to trade for Amari Cooper, used a 3rd on Michael Gallup, used a 1 on Lamb....used a 3rd on Tolbert....

Why?

Why do our own fans always think we are too high on lists, and need to always be further down.

I am surprised but I’ll will take it. Not that it means a whole lot. But is is a nice change.
I agree with you but if you’re really looking for an answer as to why fans tend to feel that way…

We haven’t made a deep playoff run since I was barely out of college. I’m now making retirement plans.

CD and Cooks for sure, Gallup if he can return to his former self. Everyone under that is a question mark.

Cooper, Lamb, Tolbert, Gallup, Switzer. There is 5 draft picks spent on WR's in the last 6 years.

Im a homer but until I see the production improve over last year Im skeptical. Gallup was garbage last year and unless I am looking in wrong spots I dont see cooks at the top of too many receiver categories. I see CeeDee and thats it again. Now mind you not a down has been played but I am just not all in on these receivers.I see improvement over Noah Brown for sure. I see less production out of TE but we may get better blocking.Hopefully tolbert takes a step up but the fact he could not supplant Noah Brown is a bit concerning.

I think the number one job of this organization was to get Dak more weapons and protect him and they failed IMO. I hope Im wrong.

If Galllup returns to form, I'd agree with the grade but not based off last season...more like 9-10 as is.

Man it feels good to be a gangster.

Last year's receiver core with Schultz and Gallup playing dinged and Washington never even getting out of Camp was so insanely underwhelming.
Every WR move came up snake eyes.

Time to reclaim a top 5 spot.

And keep the Dallas offense under Dak ranked 1st in scoring for 3 years.

No chance he is getting 143 targets like he did that season. Not with Kirk, Jones, Engram, Etienne

That team had a poor run game the year he dominated.
That ATL team also had the worst defense in football and tried to win games 41-40.
Ridley is a good WR but that one season was a mighty outlier for him.
He never hit 900 yards receiving in any other season.

People on this board bagging on Cooks but touting Ridley is part of why it is hard to take some Cowboys fans seriously.
--Ridley could in fact be better and may be really good longer term but 2 years removed from his only plus season is hardly WR1 superstar material.
Cooks has 6 NFL seasons with 1000+ yards.
