I agree with you but if you’re really looking for an answer as to why fans tend to feel that way…

We haven’t made a deep playoff run since I was barely out of college. I’m now making retirement plans.
I get and understand the frustration.
But to dump on everything, even good news, and not admitting anything good is just miserable. But if that is what one wants I prefer they vent elsewhere.
But opinions are opinions.

Im a homer but until I see the production improve over last year Im skeptical. Gallup was garbage last year and unless I am looking in wrong spots I dont see cooks at the top of too many receiver categories. I see CeeDee and thats it again. Now mind you not a down has been played but I am just not all in on these receivers.I see improvement over Noah Brown for sure. I see less production out of TE but we may get better blocking.Hopefully tolbert takes a step up but the fact he could not supplant Noah Brown is a bit concerning.

I think the number one job of this organization was to get Dak more weapons and protect him and they failed IMO. I hope Im wrong.
Consider that Houston team and QB's he had. Dak is much better. Cooks will be fine. Gallup returned way too quick, and the FO screwed that situation up...not surprising though ...in hindsight though.
I still think it was the right decision on Cooper.

As to getting Dak more weapons, yes, that is needed. However I feel the change and removal of Moore and MM taking over what should be better overall sound play calling is what helps him more so than what fans feel like getting him weapons. As every fan has their own idea on that. I am more concerned with the RB situation and OL depth than I am Dak.

If Gallup returns to anywhere his normal form this year we have an amazing receiving corps compared to the vast majority of football. Rank 5-7 imo

Absolutely no reason for the cowboys offense not to put up stupid stats between the receiving corps and one of the best backs the last two years. Only concern is the OL staying healthy. Dak can't have it much easier

I am as well. Well see what kind of time Dak has to find his limited weapons.

That ATL team also had the worst defense in football and tried to win games 41-40.
Ridley is a good WR but that one season was a mighty outlier for him.
He never hit 900 yards receiving in any other season.

People on this board bagging on Cooks but touting Ridley is part of why it is hard to take some Cowboys fans seriously.
--Ridley could in fact be better and may be really good longer term but 2 years removed from his only plus season is hardly WR1 superstar material.
Cooks has 6 NFL seasons with 1000+ yards.
Every single one of those 1000+ yard seasons he was overwhelmingly the #1 WR on his team and was force fed the ball. There was one season in between though where he was the #2: when Kupp emerged in LAR 2019, Cooks had only 500 yards receiving despite playing over 700 snaps that year. He is not a full toolbox outside WR, he is a compliment to what Dallas already has.

Ridley’s monster season was bigger than anything Cooks has ever done by nearly 200 yards, and he didn’t even play all 16 games. On top of that, he was the #2 to Julio for more than half the season before Julio got hurt, where JJ was on pace for 1300 yards himself.

Ridley is 2 years removed from his big year, but not due to declining production. And the Dude is still only 28

Why?

Why do our own fans always think we are too high on lists, and need to always be further down.

I am surprised but I’ll will take it. Not that it means a whole lot. But is is a nice change.
I think its accurate. If Gallup is healthy thats top 5.

Totally agree on Jacksonville. As good as Lamb was last year in 17 games, Jax’s new #1 had better stats his last full season in only 15 games. With Doug Pederson and Trevor Lawrence, Ridley could be a 1500 yard guy this year
You cant put Ridley back into elite category like that. He HAS to prove it.

The Jets don't have an ideal #2 but all 5 of their guys can play. We got Tolbert and Turpin.

This fan base cringes at any level of praise the Cowboys get. Gets annoying quick.

:hammer:many instances our fan base feel like our enemy. Its like popular to bag on your own team, apparently. try and be positive, be a fan and be labeled a rose colored glasses wearing , sheep, homer.. lmao. umm ok i didn't get the memo, hate your own claimed team..

Man it feels good to be a gangster.

Last year's receiver core with Schultz and Gallup playing dinged and Washington never even getting out of Camp was so insanely underwhelming.
Every WR move came up snake eyes.

Time to reclaim a top 5 spot.

And keep the Dallas offense under Dak ranked 1st in scoring for 3 years.
Just as long as the offensive line gives enough time and flexability...I'm game on this #5.

You know they've played the same number of games right? easier metric to use. Also year plus away from the game coupled w/ mental health issues. Dunno

Washington? Not quite. McLaurin is elite. But Samuel and Dotson are just good. Not great.

Jacksonville? Kirk is good. Jones is good, Ridley is pretty good but hasn’t played in over a year.

They aren’t better than Dallas.
Yeah what’s Gallup? He wasn’t good last year. I like Dotson a lot. Samuel is decent to good when he’s not injured. Just saying I think it’s at least close to a toss up. But fair enough.

Well that takes one excuse off the table.
Bingo!……….if it’s not the receivers, it’s the offensive line, or lack of running game …….only thing they can’t use anymore is the Kellen Moore excuse.

Seattle at number 2 is ridiculous - that is just stupid. Metcalf is not that good and neither is Lockett. No way they are above 3 and 4 on that list.
