And replace him with who? Destruction without mind of a solution is a fool's way.

Worse is putting up with boneheads who do little to nothing to contribute.

What does Lucky Whitehead do that makes him at all difficult to replace? Besides fumbling and getting himself benched for half a game? Or pulled so Beasley can go out there and fair catch?

I guess it's the threat of his return. He's under-performed since about week 4, but he is still our best returner, IMO. Beas is horrid.

I don't disagree with Garrett doing this. I was more questioning the blasé attitude of the diehards here.

Lucky isn't Harris, hell to the no, but he still has decent vision when returning punts (in particular).

If Lance can come in and produce, use this chance to gain more of a roll on the team, then heck yeah. Lance is a quick, little dude with some wiggle, too... like Lucky.

T, I like Lucky, but what he did, with this team and how our season is going, well, he deserved it. Here's to Dunbar (or whomever) stepping up and seizing their new opportunity to gain a roll (in this case, as a PR).
Lucky deserves what he got. But his fumbling is a bit over blown here. Perception and reality often differ with players

He fumbled the ball last week and coaches patted him on the back afterwards. I guess they finally had enough of the carrot and decided on the stick.

Like Darius a lot. Many had him as pet cat in draft zone.

When MoC got demoted last season or in 2014, I recall he stormed out of the Ranch and it was a big media story. But I don't recall him skipping any team meetings or practices.

It may be Lucky was told he was having KR duties taken from him and this his how he chose to handle it. I've noticed too many times he's making dumb decisions NOT to fair catch the ball inside the 10 yard line. About 7 or 8 times he's put the team in a big hole by not letting the ball go when it would've had an excellent chance of going into the end zone for a touchback. Instead we've ended up starting our drives on the 10 or the 12.

In one game he did this 3 times.

You're also forgetting him literally running in a circle twice on one punt return.

How about we require these guys to make a good "play or two?" How about that?

Instead of slap assing every mediocre player on the roster who doesn't contribute and can't do his job, maybe some of these guys need to go before they take the rest of them down with them?

Players like Whitehead, who don't do much and don't do what they do well, should be thanking their 'Lucky' stars that they're even in the league. But instead, they're out partying, thinking that they're something they're not. An NFL star.
If he weren't viable, he wouldn't be on the field as much as he is. He's a big part of what we do. I know some folks only care about the Dez's and Zeke's of the world.

Roper was the starting LBer when cut, Richardson was Emmitt's backup. Lot of hate and ignorance for a coach who brought 3 championship rings to your favorite team.

Wrong. Roper was mainly a special teamer with Dallas and Richards fumbled three times in fifty carries. He sucked.
No one is hating on Jimmy, but he didn't exactly cut Jim Brown and Ray Lewis.

Make positive gains as the sweeper on the jet sweep. Return kicks. Provide depth for Beasley.

You just seem mad.

The fumble vs. Minnesota was the only fumble of his career.

His jet sweep package is a critical part of the offense.

I mostly agree but don't think anyone else on team can do Jet sweep like him and I do think that is effective play.

No, he isn't. He's a one trick decoy who seldom actually touches the ball. But again, he wears the uniform so some fans will automatically overvalue him and believe that we just can't live without him.

And not only does he not do much well, he does things poorly. He dances around on his punt returns and gets pulled from the game, he fumbles when he does actually touch the ball, and now he misses curfew and meetings.

A player who contributes so little is "lucky" to be in the league. But instead of realizing that, he'd rather squander his opportunity. Just like 3 other players did, two of whom are no longer here, and one who has one foot out the door.

I am mad. I don't want to see this team negatively affected by another idiot. This one who does little more than make mistakes on the field and get in trouble off of it. But again, some fans can tell themselves he's 'irreplacable' because he wears the star if they want.

Whitehead's a spare part. Easily replaced.

You should check the accuracy of something before you claim it as 'fact'.

His jet sweep package is a critical part of the offense.

Some people will tell themselves anything.

So I guess we have no chance to win without him, right? Since we're now without "a critical part of the offense"?

:lmao:
