What did they try? We still have our first round pick, so apparently they weren't willing to give that up.
i would prefer to see if and how the OBJ audition would work out first here,.. before any thought of a long term contract and committee to him.
as there are concerns i have about him,(ala durability, ACL recovery, his diva persona)
Maybe his camp and market bidding is seeking out the long term committment from teams interested in him, .. instead of a one year renter.
And you shouldn't because if it took a 1st and we were prepared to give up a 1st then he would be a cowboy today.I can’t believe that is true
But in the past he does tend to disguise information he knows by disclosing it as an opinion. In the show on Tuesday had had a message from someone (presumably a colleague) who he was checking in with as to whether anything was going down, so he is very well connected. If it was an opinion he seemed quite sure
Lol, what Eatman as a media personality and what ownership/GM are willing to do are completely different, including their interest… eatman, is fishing for viewers… ownership, sustainably fielding a team!Just listening to Hangin' with the Boys. He says at 4.15 mark that it would have taken a first to land him.
Sound's very much like we were prepared to give this up.
I'm speechless!
Yeah but they likely have to cut him now, get no compensation and still have to eat his cap space. They should’ve taken a 2nd or 3rd and been happyEveryone forgets Houston just gave Cooks an extension so they would have taken a good a bit on the chin with the trade, all the SB and guarantees from this year.
This Houston, one of a few teams with dysfunctional FO.Yeah but they likely have to cut him now, get no compensation and still have to eat his cap space. They should’ve taken a 2nd or 3rd and been happy
Seems pretty false considering they said they had a deal for cooks for a 2nd but the 18mil stalled talksJust listening to Hangin' with the Boys. He says at 4.15 mark that it would have taken a first to land him.

I'm sure he wants a longer term deal. Gotta atleast sit him down and try to come up with something. I prefer 2 year deals so he has a chance to really get involved with the offense and QB. If he can come in off the bench and make 2-3 plays a game to help this team actually win a playoff game, it's worth the risk. I'd rather have kept cooper 1 more year but that ship sailed a long time ago.
You're reaching.
He said "I would think it'd take a 1st" I don't know why you think that means he knew this for a fact.

The Amari Cooper trade situation was made personal,.. not business, imo.
- Maybe it was something about his persona did not mince well with management, and perhaps even some coaching staff.
Remember the incident where Cooper (and Randall Cobb) were both
on the sideline during a critical Philly win or go home finale ?
- The non-vaccine missed games also likely played a factor as well as both Jerry and Michael Irvin voiced their disappointment about that.
My biggest gripe on Amari is he does not show up against the better coverage CBs in the NFL when he needed to. (and same watch dog eye on Lamb on that as well)
" Availability " ?
Amari really did not miss many games. Maybe practice was another matter, but he grunted it out on game day time.
i still some personal issues between the two parties factor in basically getting nuthin for Cooper - a far cry than what we gave up for him from the Radas trade.
Lol, Yes, the original post was complete nonsense, bordering on gibberish!Complete nonsense, Eatman knows a lot of stuff behind the curtain which he has to keep quiet about, but sometimes offers up hints/titbits
They could have restructured and push money down the road that would have been about it. Dallas was 21.2 mill over the cap. Cowboys did not do this because they did not like him they were over the cap and you can't keep everyone. Gallup was signed contract paying half of what Cooper was getting Washington on a 1 year deal for 1.5 mill put the WR position at 12 mill instead of 22 mill Cooper was getting. I like Cooper but in the end something had to give. I said at the end of 2021 season Cowboys would keep either Gallup or Cooper but would not keep both
But a few months later they were planning to trade more draft capital for a worse receiver putting that same money on the books for next season. That doesn't make sense even if it's a conditional 3rd.
Seems like they didn't make the trade cause Dallas wanted Texans to pay money on Cooks contact next year..... If that's true, than no Dallas wouldn't have paid the same as Cooper contractLet me get this straight. We only got a 5th rounder for Cooper...and we were told that was the best you should expect because someone else was taking on his 20m cap hit....but 8 games into the season we were open to giving up a 1st day pick and take on a similar cap hit to get a WR?
