Ed Werder: Deion would accept the job if offered

The bad part: I don’t want my hero eventually being called a bad NFL HC because Jerry and his kid can’t figure out how to use the cap.

The good part:

Jerry: “we don’t need DTs. Not worth the money.”

Kellen (like MM and JG): “yes Jerry.”

Prime: “No, we need some defensive tackles in here.”

Hopefully that happens in March, not August, if at all.

Really feels like it’s down to Moore or Sanders with Zimmer as DC to either. Stephen probably votes Moore since he will save money on an OC that way.

I think some of you guys are confused by Deion's public persona. And yes...he could use a few more years of coaching to truly get ready for the big chair.

That said, if you were super-duper rich and your kids turned out to be disciplined, talented and hard-working in their own right? Trust me, that is not easy and he did that 3/4 times over...and then he did it with other people's kids. Count me as impressed by what Deion has accomplished in coaching...and I love that he went to places that were BAD to prove that it wasn't just fluff. That means the man wants a challenge. He has LESS incentive to coach than MM but he seems to bring MORE energy...some of yall are missing the forest for the trees.
Some coaches might struggle with the differences between boys and men. There's a different motivation there. Urban Meyer might be a good example.

One thing to watch following Jerry Jones and his initial discussions with Deion Sanders. Two people with knowledge of the situation tell me Sanders approached Colorado AD Rick George Tuesday about additional money for NIL and his staff. He was met with resistance. The University of Colorado would neither confirm or deny the information when I reached out. Deion Sanders didn’t respond when reached multiple times for comment.

Respect. Complete and total respect.

The best DB and PR of all time. No question. Maybe the best defensive player ever. Let’s play some offense too. WR1 for a month in fact while Irvin was out.

Who else had closing speed to bait the QB? No one else could ever play that way. Yeah you’d better block Reggie and LT with 2-3, but Sanders literally shut down half the field, now that saying is used for any decent cover corner. Shameful.

And why not?….let’s play Major League Baseball also. Not great, but didn’t at all embarrass himself.

Hold onto your butts, folks.

You put "Prime" on his left sleeve like he has in Buffalo, put it up for sale, and Jerry earns back every penny he spends on him this year. If for no other reason, this is why it may happen. I'm fine with it. Not my first choice but sure better than a bunch of the other names floating around.

Deion's greatest strength is in recruitment. People want to play for him. He can get players but that's not the problem in Dallas. Players already want to play here.
Do they really though? How do we know? It's not like we sign anybody who isn't on their last hoorah, from the bargain bin, or isn't applying at McDonalds, Walmart, or the USFL(UFL) lately.

Not saying Deion would change that, just that this whole "people want to play for Dallas" thing has not really been tested with any major FA in over a decade. (Yes I get Henry but he lives in Dallas and wanted to stay in Dallas (I believe), not exactly a ringing endorsement for the Cowboys).

Jerry's plan is in place. Deion will coach for a few years until he gets bored and then Jason Witten will get his NFL coaching experience until he takes over.

Not saying he wasn't a great player, but can't say I was a fan of the whole Neon Deion thing. Major self-promoter. Still is, but I think it's tempered with age. He'd still be flamboyant, but I think he's a real person now instead of a caricature.

Ah man it’s crazy. I seriously can’t stand flamboyant athletes. When Jaylon Smith showed up at Soldier Field the way did in whatever year that was, then went out there and stunk it up, I was sick. Deion at least did things in a slightly more classy way and actually backed it up at a very high level.

I do fully understand how people may not like him and are put off. I get that.

I do think he will be ok as an NFL HC in the right situation, but I’m not convinced this is it.

Oh, I absolutely enjoyed him as a player on our team. That's all I really cared about, and all I still really care about. I'm not worried about loud suits, loud mouths, whether you play golf on the weekends or wear your hat backward. I just want to win.

I like Deion too, can’t worship or call him an idol or anything but he is likable. I rarely follow athletes after they retire but I do keep up with him, Shaq and Iron Mike.

I don't even see why people think Deion is a worthy coach. He changed out the entire roster when he got to CU, he didn't coach up the players who were there. Can't do that in this league. His son was a very good QB, and he had the Heisman Trophy winner, and he still was ranked 18 or whatever in a mediocre conference.

I'm genuinely shocked tons of people can't see this. At least we'll get SOME reality about the team...MM was a straight STOOGE during his pressers. No personality, no initiative and no charisma. Total Dud and Doofus.
Jerry can never be overshadowed. Jimmy messed him up BIG TIME. Parcells was past his prime but the team got better and Jerry's like "nah, I'm not having fun!". I was no fan of Parcells but he was at least on the same level of Jerry. Deion would be actually a step above Jerry IMO. We can only hope if they hire Deion he gets us somewhere in the short time he'll be there. Either that or Jerry croaks this time from the "non attention".

of course he would, the Dallas job is wayyyy more coveted than the Colorado job for a multitude of reasons.
