Arizona managed to get to 6-1 with Palmer and Stanton both starting so it can be done.
Arizona also has a pretty great defense

If Romo is forced to miss this game I will say I'm comfortable with Weeden coming in. I know a lot here think the Cowboys are doomed with Weeden myself I think he is a very talented QB who was on a poor team in Cleveland. The offense he is running in Dallas is not much different than the system he was running with OSU which relied a lot on the running game and play action passing. Great thing about the situation in Dallas Weeden does get more reps than most backups since Romo takes one day off during practice and Weeden is taking snaps
No it doesn't , This forces us to run Murray and so far no team has been able to stop are running game.
One of the reasons our run game has been so unstoppable is because teams fear our QB and receivers. They have to fear our passing game.
Defenses can now cheat on their run defense big time, and dare Weeden to beat them.
Our coaches have to be able to put Weeden into a position to do that.

one thing weeden does well is throw down field. he has a strong arm. his problem has always been his decision making. a powerful run game makes the decisions easier because you generallly have man coverage. i think with romo it's about being able to handle the pain and we know he can handle pain. but if he can't go i expect the team to rally around weeden and weeden do a decent job. the cards are'nt a good pass coverage team to me. they are decent against the run but i think we can run on them
This is a major gut-check game:
Backup QB or a hobbled Romo playing;
Facing a tough 6-1 team;
Short week after MNF;
Coming off a tough sloppy loss;
Defensive captain out;
OLine banged up;
Needing a win to keep atop NFC and division.
This game will tell us a lot about how different this year's squad really is and what our prospects are down the stretch. Garrett has the opportunity to really lead these guys through adversity. The team leaders like Dez and Witten need to show the way on the field with stellar play. A clean crisp game is desperately needed.
Is there any consideration being given to move this to a 3 p.m./4 p.m. start time? It's the premier matchup of the week.

If we lose to the Jags, we are done.If it's just pain, he'll play. And we'll need him. We're 6-2 but things can get away quick and we can't let winnable games get away from us. Every year a hot starting team blows it in the second half (Detroit last year) and this year it could be us with all of the road games. In 2008 they thought Brad Johnson could "game manage" a 2-14 Rams team and they got rolled, costing them a playoff spot. I like Weeden as a backup project, but he is still one of the worst QBs in the league whose weaknesses were on display as recently as this preseason (never mind Cleveland). Even the Jaguars game would be in jeopardy with Weeden at the controls.
