Ed Werder say Romo may miss a game or two

... my thought also is he doesn't want to miss this historic season. Remember the quote from Dez "what DeMarco is doing is a big deal to the team". Also there is Jason's job on the line. Then there is what this defense is doing for the offense which Tony has also stated he hasn't been able to rely on in the past. There are so many parameters in play here. But I don't want him out there if he's not firing on all cylinders ... and if they are not going to rely on DeMarco.

I agree... I know folks hate to hear this.. but the cowboys have to start thinking about life after Romo... and know Weeden aint it....

One thing for sure when Romo hangs it up he's gonna have one gimpy*** post football life.

I was just thinking this yesterday....it is going to be sad to see how bad off Romo is going to be physically in his later years. I Also worry about addiction to pain killers a'la Brett Favre.

I believe he can. That play and pass to Witt was sick. My first thought was "see how easy that was Tony".

Maybe.

He looked better than I thought he would, I'll definitely admit that.

But that's against a piss poor Washington defense.

Arizona has a far better over all defense and it's not even remotely close how much better their secondary is then Washington's.

One of the reasons our run game has been so unstoppable is because teams fear our QB and receivers. They have to fear our passing game.

Defenses can now cheat on their run defense big time, and dare Weeden to beat them.

Our coaches have to be able to put Weeden into a position to do that.

There's always two sides to the coin and this is the other side.

Shoot him up and get him in there.

That would be my normal response. But, I think about the after effects and future of Romo.. How will it screw him up say in Game 14? Possibly better to sit him now, than later.

He is still their best chance at winning any ball game at QB, but, maybe #2 won't be "that bad" for a couple of games..

P.S.

If #2 starts and wets the bed, completely screwing up this Sunday. All bets are off..LOL

Get Romo doped up at get him out there. LOL

Because of his record in November and 106 million says so.. LOL

Yeah but that's exactly why he wouldn't see the field again until he could play comfortably again. We are going to need him if we are going to make the play offs. Weeden can handle a game or two.

I am thinking that way as well. But, damn, it's the Cards.. I don't know.. Orton's blunder at the end of last season still is a vision in my head. Friggin had that game too. And, Orton did play well, until that costly stupid INT.

And, no, I don't think Romo should of been put back out on Monday Night, Let Weeds finish out.

I actually feel better about Weeden starting this next game. No, he isn't a great QB, but he is good enough with this online and the way we run the ball. Plus he is mobile. We need Romo to get healthy.

For my money, Weeden for Tony is one of the most significant step-downs in talent between a starter and a backup that we've got on the team. (Smith-Parnell and McClain-Hitchens/whoever is backup MLB now are the other two that come to mind). It's a huge deal not to have Tony for even a game, here.

That said, I do think Weeden can keep you in a game or two with our running game and if our defense remembers how to tackle. Even a tough game like AZ I wouldn't write off entirely.

Is Patrick Peterson playing? He got banged up in the Eagles game.

Well the Skins fans were saying "Damn it's the Cowboys" I'm sure when they found out Colt was starting. The kid came through.
Now we have to have our coaches step up and not screw the pooch like the Skins staff did.

Well, let's hope they are successful in whatever they do Sunday..

But I agree with you in principle that I do believe this means people will simply put 8 or 9 in the box and force Weeden to beat them and he's going to have to prove that he can.

Yea, that's all I was trying to say.

He just has to do enough to keep the defense honest, and keep them guessing.

Hopefully, then, ... with the running game working, he won't have to win the game himself.

If he needs to do that, we are in trouble.
