Edelman: Dez is not a top 5 receiver

No it's not. You can't be the best at anything after one season. You need to have a longer body of work than just a single season of elite production.

Yes it is. There may be less evidence of them being the best, but they can be the best. Being the best at any one point has nothing to do with how long you've been in the league.

No, it's absolutely not. OBJ is not better than Bryant, Green, or Brown. All three have been playing at a high level for quite some time now. OBJ had one single year.

This is like putting Doug Martin at the top after his 2012 season. There have been far too many one year wonder players in this league. If you want to argue he had a great season? Fine. But best player at his position? Get a grip.

See above. It's not best all time. It's not the best over the last few years. It is who is the best RIGHT NOW.

How can you say a guy who didn't even play a full season last season in Beckham is better than guys who have at least three years of body of work with guys like Dez, AJ Green, Calvin Johnson, even Jordy Nelson?

That makes no sense. Was Miles Austin considered the best after his breakout season in 2009? No he wasn't and he never really was considered an elite receiver because he only had one year of elite production.

That STILL doesn't make any sense. Nelson is injured, and he's still on the list.

You can put whoever you like on your "best" list, but you lose credibility putting one year players on it.

Man, this is an irresponsible title to an article. Edelman named his personal top 5, he didn't call anyone out who wasn't on it. He didn't even put himself on it.

As Parxells would say, "y'all just got sucked".

he's not a top 5 receiver: great goal line threat, average in between the 20's.

Because he considers Nelson to be one of the best in the game right now if healthy. This isn't rocket science. If Calvin Johnson entered the league at his prime he would have been the best. There wouldn't be a pile of stats to point to as evidence of that, but it would still be true. How good a player right now is what determines who is the best. Not what they've done.

It's his (and many other's) opinion that OBJ is one of the best. Time may prove them wrong. It may prove them right (as far as you can with an opinion). You're free to disagree with them if you'd like, but your statement was still faulty logic.

I would say you lose credibility for dismissing one year players just for being one year players. Randy Moss was one of the best his rookie year.

You heard it here, fellas. Bryant gets 1,300 yards from the goal line.

he got that by preying on the weak: jax, last gm. vs Commanders, titans. what the fraud do in the playoffs? his typical 38 yds per game. he did have a great game vs philly in december! the guy is troy aikman all time overrated level.

Wow. So you think three of the best players in Cowboys history are overrated or average. Good to know.

As I said in another thread, your credibilty goes out the window when you put a player who has only been in the league for one season at the top of your list.

Did you not think Randy Moss was one of the top receivers when he tore the league up his rookie year?

You have already stated there is a lack of evidence. So, everything you are now saying, it's completely and utterly pointless.

OBJ is NOT a better player than Bryant, Green, Johnson, and Brown until he PROVES IT. Key word: Proves. One year DOES NOT prove anything. Are we finished now?

I would have said he had a great season. But better than other established WRs? No. You have to consistently establish yourself to be a top 5 WR.

I'll be honest, I think that is absolutely a purposeful slight from Edelman. That guy has one of the biggest mouths and most arrogant attitudes in sports.
