I was reading Sturms article on edge rushers and based on what he is saying there are 6 edge rushers who are good enough for Dallas to use #28 on. I think he said two were definitely out of our reach. Of the others, most of them will be out of reach as well.

How many edge rushers are likely to go before our pick in the first round? It is always a concern about teams behind you leap frogging in front of you and picking one up.

We might just be far enough back to miss out on all of the ones worth pulling the trigger on at #28.

Charles Harris out of Mizzou.

I dunno man. I believe we're in one of those situations this offseason where we know what needs fixing, and if there's a player that we fall in love with and feel will make an immediate impact, we'll move up some spots and take him. I'm not talking Julio Jones or Mo Claiborne trade ups, but I think you'll see some aggressiveness in FA and the draft by our beloved Cowboys.

5 or 6 of the top guys will go before our pick IMO. This is just based on reading the first 5 mock drafts when I googled it. Most of the draft "gurus" have between 5-7 DEs/edge rushers going before our pick

That's sad...

It better be the right guy, I hate the idea of giving up second day picks to get a question mark.

Rather take the best player on the board especially if they are a RT, CB, TE and/or DT.

Still think getting a DT who can collapse a pocket serves the same purpose as a DE, especially when you are facing the Brady's and Rodgers' of the world.

We're looking at a last of the Mohicans 1st round again which was the rationale behind drafting Travis Frederick. An all pro Mohican.

My worry is Jerry blinks watching them go off the board and trades up for one.

An edge rushing threat has been a missing component for this dfense for far too long and I believe has been a critical reason for us not getting over the hump. I think a high round pick needs to be applied to a DE as well bringing in a touted FA - JPP I think would be a good target.

I think JPP is the type player who will bring a ROI

Isn't this the case every year there's a player we like and some team picks him in front of use, Bobby Wagner, Emmanuel Ogbah if the brown don't take Ogbah- Jaylon Smith is not a Cowboy

My guess is Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas and Taco Charlton are all gone in top 15. Dereck Barnett and Takkarist McKinney are gone by the time we hit #25. Which means we will be holding our breath hoping no one takes Charles Harris. If someone does, we *could* take Carl Lawson, maybe even Demarcus Walker but I would likely trade down

Good chance we get a higher quality player at another position if it falls that way. I am ok with that. Plus every year 5 or so players crack the first round that make you scratch your head.

Is Daniel Day-Lewis our new CB at 28?

If he can cover a WR as well as he acts (and he is a method actor), sign me up, Three! Prefer him to take on a roll of a 6'4' 270 lb edge rusher, who collects 10 sacks in his rookie year, tho :)

I'm all for edge rusher ... just don't panic and reach or give up picks.

Stay the course. Get the best player who can make the biggest impact.

Please, no more injured/reclamation players in the 2nd round.
