Image: Edited the catch

Nice catch, but still not better than T Williams catch against Seattle IMO. That was a work of art, from a non hands catcher!

This is why we need a great NFL pure free safety who covers like a centerfielder. Fed up with all these SS-CB converts.

But it doesn't take anything away from the catch.....it did look like he pushed away with his left arm and the fact he only went up to catch it with his right arm made it look like PI against Carr.

that is a great question. Was church in single high safety? or was he burnt that bad? We need to draft a difference maker at the safety position.

See, when Beckham starts it by throwing up his own X, karma was just obligated to catch up with him. Enter Dez, a.k.a. Karma. I have no problem with him celebrating. Just like I had no issue with Harvey Martin taking the funeral wreath Washington sent the Cowboys in 1979 back to their locker room and throwing it in during their team prayer.

As to the catch being mocked, I think it's natural when things get hyped so far that people will get tired of it. See Tim Tebow, Johnny Football, and a host of other examples. It absolutely was a great athletic effort. It was also Offensive Pass Interference, not Defensive Pass Interference, no matter how much Chris Collinsworth and anyone else wants to claim. How else do you explain that a man trailing the WR ended up landing 2 yards out of bounds? That goes against the laws of physics to suggest he can end up there without being pushed. I don't care. It was a great catch. Dallas still won. I expect Giants fans to enjoy it just like we have enjoyed Tony Dorsett's 99 yard TD run...in a loss. I have had more than one Vikings fan remind me who won that game. What's the difference?

That was obviously a push off................not taking anything away from one of the greatest catches of all time, but that was offensive PI.....................not like we would ever get that call but just saying.

A spectacular catch, but no explanation at all on the two flags thrown. Beckham certainly hooked Carr and threw him to the ground.

Carr obviously grabbed him. Would have liked to hear offsetting fouls , replay down , or offsetting fouls TD if that's allowed under the rules ( I don't thing so ) ... but nothing. The Giants got away with another blatant pushoff later in the game that even Hollingsworth commented on.

Watch the Dez TD winner, and you will see the DB shove him also.

This catch must really be bothering some people here on CZ. This is the 2nd variation of this theme I've seen so far this week.

It was one of the greatest catches I've ever seen. I don't care two squats that it happened to come against the Cowboy. I see no need to somehow lessen it.

It was a great catch but the outcome of the game is what was important. That seems to be getting lost in the mania of the catch.

Did anything like this happen when Dez made his great fingertip catch on the backline of the endzone when The Giants still beat Dallas? No. The story was that NY won the game.

Now I do know that Dez's catch was out of bounds but it was a monumental effort and would have won the game for Dallas.

To many, IMO, that is what is bothering them.

Not me though... I'm just glad that Green Bay squeezed by the Vikes.

Hollingsworth? ;)

Part of Cowboy Lore... Thanks for posting..

Good points on the physics. Agree in that regard.

Wouldn't it be great, if Dez would make that same one-handed TD in one of the next games and then go ahead and tell the media "No big deal".

Yea, the refs were letting the Giants get away with everything.............................I seriously think the refs were point shaving for some New York mafia family:laugh:

Had the same thought. Every time it got close, they found a way to add on another 15 yards

I thought it was a great play. However, it doesn't deserve the media coverage that its getting now. Go to NFL.com and click on the Cowboys vs. Giants score and the first thing they show on video is an interview on Beckham about the catch. Then it shows another interview talking about the catch, and then shows some Giants highlights.

The catch was a great play but nothing else. The main headlines should be Giants lost and Cowboys win despite the CATCH. This talk right now about that catch is nothing more than mental masturbation for the media who can't get over the idea that Dallas beat the Giants and might possibly be in the playoffs.

When Tony Dorsett ran 99 yards for a touchdown with only 10 Cowboy players on the field against Minnesota in 1983, did anyone talk about the Vikings actually winning the game, 31-27, or were they focused on the record setting run?

Yeah, I thought so.

Nice catch, we all acknowledge that.... By why do I need to get excited about a Giant player making a TD vs. Dallas???

Not sure why some of you feel the need to go on and on about it. The media/Giant's fans have that covered so he's getting all the attention he deserves, it's not being overlooked. Does it really matter if some Cowboy's fans are over it and don't really care if it's ever brought up again?
