Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

...RPG game before.

Just Mario Bros. and Zelda years ago.

Is this a good game for a newbie to experience?

I'm only good for about 1 hr per week. Any suggestions from experienced gamers?

At the rate of 1 hour per week Skyrim will last you 5-10 years easily if you go and do everything this game has to offer.
:lmao:
Not to hard of a learning curve if you have any experiences with RPGs in the past. Also would hurt to give the manual a good read thru to become aqquainted.

Finally got to play a bit. Took high elf mage. Just killed a dragon and received the dragonborn stuff. On the way to the graybeards. (well, next time I play anyhow)

Is there any major difference between the consoles and PC version?

Doubt it. I know the menu system freaking sucks to use on the PC.

In the pc version you can tweak the ini files for better graphical enhancements as well as if you have a good pc your going to able to crank those graphics higher then the console versions.
I have a great pc but chose to get the 360 version because id rather play on a 50 inch screen then a 27. Also getting to plop my rear on the couch is great as well.
Might browse their offical forums for more info..........

Best game. Been playing a necro since launch. PC version...love it. The menu system is no problem at all on the PC.

Having to use the menu system to keep changing weapons / spells sucks.

Considering I downloaded it, maybe there is a way to setup macros to switch. I think (F) is favorite though.

If you're only good for 1 hour a week, don't buy this game. It'll take you a year and a half to beat at that rate.

I was going to post this. I'm betting there is close to 80 hours of game play in this game. (that's how much is in Dragon Age) At 80 hours and an hour a week. You are looking at a year and a half to play it.

You are better off sticking with a Mario Brothers type game.

I spent a good 300 hours playing the third game in the series Morrowind and its two expansions and still didnt complete everything.

Skyrim has something called radiant questing which means it supposedly has endless quests.
You’ll never have to stop questing in the upcoming open-world role-playing game, to be released November 11 for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. Skyrim director Todd Howard told Wired.com in a phone interview Monday that the game will feature a never-ending stream of procedurally generated content, giving players an infinite number of things to do.
“The vibe of the game is that it’s something that you can play forever,” Howard said.

The game’s Radiant quest system randomly generates new tasks based on your progress in the game. An innkeeper might ask you to hunt for bandits in a place you haven’t found yet, or an aspiring alchemist could request that you collect 10 undiscovered flowers for his work. Howard claims that the options are endless.

If you are using key/mouse, make sure to go into options and UNCHECK xbox360 controller, which is enabled by default. it will make navigating the interface a little easier.

Blew a whole weekend playing and felt like I haven't scratched the surface yet. It's exceeded my expectations so far.
