The irony is that by the time most of the people on CZ pass away, all hearses will probably be electric!
By then maybe electric cars will be more viable. As of now they are virtue signalers for people who think they care about the environment more than everyone else.

not true at all. my wife and daughter both have chevy volt hybrids...they charge them at work and at school...not trying to impress anyone...with the mileage they put on them it works out very well.

not sure why people get triggered by electric cars...if it works for you great, if not why does it bother you?

It doesn't bother me as far as personal choice in what to drive.

Lithium is basically found everywhere, Las Vegas is loaded with it, just have to dig obviously.
Overpopulation? Birth rates are at their lowest levels ever.
Escape major storms in an electric car? Gas stations cannot pump gas without electricity.
Electric vs ICE, ICE not competitive at all. Drive one, you will buy one.

Honda did the Clarity that I believe was only available in CA. People liked it but it was not that fast. Not sure on how fast you can make a hydrogen car go, or maybe you can make it go fast, I don’t know.

The direction they are going with hydrogen fuel cells is to use the fuel cells to produce electricity which them powers an electric motor. So the torque and power curves should be similar to that of an EV. The only difference is FCEVs do not need to be "charged" like an EV. You simple recharge the fuel cell which takes a few minutes.

Hydrogen internal combustion engines are already in production but are designed for larger, heavier vehicle. But if cars run on fuel cells and trucks on hydrogen then we have the simplicity of being able to refuel both types of vehicles at the same filling station with the same fuel.

The EV batteries do require a lot of various minerals, but none are truly "rare earth" minerals.

But even Lithium mining is terribly destructive....using an enormous amount of water and destroying the soil viability above and around it.
We'll get better.

You can store a couple of five gallon cans of gas.
Can't do that with electricity can you?
I laugh at your claims about elec cars.

What are my claims? So electric car bad because you cannot store a couple of 5 gallon Jerry cans. Funny stuff, wish I had thought of that.

oh yeah?…..you won’t be laughing when you see the 2 billion windmills churning out clean non-efficient energy. Just one 2million dollar windmill with backup solar panels can power a Fleshlight for 7 minutes

When all 225 million registered cars are charging every night I’m sure there will not be any issues…..

Even Pollyanna in Utopia doesn’t believe this pipe dream.

More fuzzy logic that resonates with the wannabe town militia types, luuulz.

reminds me of those people who would never drive (insert car manufacture name) here even if they were giving them away. Only will drive a (insert car manufacturer name here).

I even knew one guy that had a truck that broke down and another friend offered to tow him with his for free and the guy refused because he did not like the brand of truck the other guy had.
So instead he paid for a towing service.

Another example I remember was a guy who said he would never buy CDs when they were starting out.
He would say that the cassette is just as good of sound quality as the CD.
I said unless you have a DAT you are not getting anywhere near the quality of the CD.
Guy would just so stubborn and set in his ways that he refused the idea.

Everyone has a choice and you are entitled to that choice.
But sometimes it is nothing more than...

Biting off their nose to spite their face due to pure stubbornness.
