Eli Takes A Jab At Romo

The difference between Eli and Romo is that Eli will only go as far as the team can carry him. Eli's career high for TD passes in a single season is still 2 TD passes fewer than Romo's worst season. Eli's career avg per pass attempt is 6.8, Romo is 8.1.

The big difference between a Super Bowl ring for Eli is that his team carried him to the win, if Romo gets a Super Bowl ring, it will be Romo that carries this team to that win and he will get the MVP. Eli can laugh now, but if we do get Shanahan, Romo will get the last laugh.

Its all about numbers right now when compairing the two. Eli has a ring, no matter how he got it (and I agree he was carried), he still has it and an MVP. Romo is a better numbers guy then Eli and will always be. I dont know about you guys but numbers are for the birds.

that Eli felt the need to add the disclaimer that he was joking only proves how dumb this guy is

Except Eli has a pretty darn good QB rating to go with 8 tds and 5 ints in his career in postseason play.

Oh, and an NFC Championship and Super Bowl victory.

But yeah, other than that, Romo is better.

Sure, but I wasn't getting at the fact that Eli was ineffective. I was saying that he is not the "Savior" that Giants fans seem to portray him now that he won a Super Bowl. That team isn't built around Eli. But yes, 1 seed is real nice right now!

Ryan

I can agree. But put yourself in their shoes. Imagine Romo coming off a Super Bowl win and leading us to the top playoff seed the next year.

He'd be a hero here, too.

Eli has the ring, but all Romo has to do is win 1 Super Bowl and Romo will be forever remembered, as where people will be saying, Eli who??? And Eli knows it.

Here's the biggest difference though... It's obvious, even through the heartbreaking loses, that the majority of fans stuck with Romo and even analysts have somewhat stuck with Romo. (With the exception of "The Big Game".) All that talk before last year about Eli was the fact he wasn't very good. Now he has a Super Bowl and he's a savior. We could go round and round about this but I can honestly say that Romo will be Romo and even if he did win a Super Bowl, he wouldn't be "the hero". I honestly have a hard time believing that Giants fans can't realize that the team has carried Eli for the most part. He is improving though and honestly the team is making him look better.

Hey...reguardless, Eli does and will always have that ring. I could care less myself but for Romo to get one looks like it is going to take some work. He needs to cut out the BS and start working on being an NFL QB.

If I see another "HBO special" or Tony staring in another "ESPN commercial" then the message has not gotten through.

Very funny Eli, very funny.

Talk about a QB who was just along for the ride, kinda like Dilfer 2.0

Thats it, my new nickname for Eli is "Dilfer 2.0"

They are both bus-drivers, just asked to not lose the game for the D and running game.

just call him Elfer

No, I am not joking. The only thing Eli has over Romo is a Super Bowl ring. When you compare Eli's stats to Romo's, Eli's stats flat out suck. If they both retire with just 1 Super Bowl ring, Romo has the stats to be remembered. Romo plays for a higher profile team.

Again, Eli was the QB who just went along for the ride to the Super Bowl, Romo has the talent to take us for the ride to a Super Bowl win, especially if we get Shanahan.

Go to NFL.com, Eli is what he is, someone who will only go as far as the team carries him. He will never be a QB that puts up the big numbers to carry a team like Romo has the talent to do, like he did in 2007.

hahahahaha, owned.

Eli > Romo

Another inequality is implied here.

45 > Your IQ. ;)

Let's compare their career performance real quick.

Eli Manning has an embarrassing 55.9% completion percentage, career.

An embarrassing 6.4 YPA, career.

An embarrassing 98 touchdown to 74 interception ratio, career.

An embarrassing 76.1 passer rating, career

As for our measly good-for-nothing quarterback, he has a 63.6% completion percentage

He also sports an 8.1 YPA.

A 81 to 46 touchdown to interception ratio.

Oh, and a 94.7 passer rating.

His career low passer rating for a season was this year, at 91.4, still beating Eli Manning's career best for a season, which also took place this year, 86.4.

Another Romo v Eli stat. Eli has yet to have a QB rating over breaking 90, Romo has yet to even come close to being under 90. Like I said, all Romo has to do is win 1 Super Bowl and nobody will even know who Eli is, and nobody will remember who he was except for Giants fans. Romo wins one Super Bowl, even the most vicious of Cowboy haters will remember him.

Again, Stats. STATS STATS STATS.

Eli Manning has turned into a pretty good QB. He was money in the post season last year and he's been great this year. Here's a stat for you: tell me who has more turnovers?

What did Romo do? For all his stats, he choked away yet another chance (albeit with a lot of help) for Dallas to make some noise in the post-season for the first time in a decade.

You can throw out stats all you want, but the fact of the matter is its kinda hard to compare two guys that play in different offensive systems and say one is better than the other one based on numbers alone.

Face it. Eli is on his way up. Romo, on the way down. If you honestly say you'd rather have Romo than Eli at this point, you are a fool. Eli will be playing in his 4th straight post-season and is helping his team defend their NFL TITLE.

Mr. Simpson is sitting at home cuddling with Jessica on the couch.

yeah, just along for the ride, alright.

guess who that is. Hint: It ain't Tonya Romo.

You can keep your friggin' stats. The only stat I care about is WINS.

obviously most of us have been very harsh on Romo this season but hopefully you know maybe Romo will use these type of comments by peers and fans as motivation to toughen up!

the thing with eli is, while he's not the leader peyton or tom are on his team, he played great when it mattered the most. during that NE game and the road game stretch in the playoffs, while he didn't put up eye-popping 300+ yards or 3+ tds each game, he was very good in one category -he greatly reduced his turnovers, therefore giving his team a great chance to win. giants could have easily lost had eli been even slightly careless with the ball. which is more than what you can say now abt romo at the same playing period.

yes, i agree there are other qbs out there who are better-skilled than eli, who has better stats than him, who are far sexier choices than him, but it cant be denied that while he wasnt the only reason, he was an important factor in the giants winning the sb. his amazing escape from that potential sack preceding "the catch" still amazes me to this day. like whoever that NE linebacker said, few games ago, eli would have taken the sack, but for some reason he fought against it in that play. because eli knew its their only chance to win, and it's all on him.

and no, i am not a giants fan. just not a homer, and i can give credit where it is due. :)

That's what I hope, but it didnt do anything when Bit...*ahem*...Big Ben called him out a few times. Hopefully, coming from a division rival that knocked him out of the playoffs will develop a mean streak. Grow some back bone, Tonya!
