Well, no argument there.
Hahahahahaahahahahaha. Even if that happened, Eli Manning has a long career ahead of him and has been to the postseason 4 times in 5 seasons and won a superbowl, and he's going to have several more shots in the post season at another NFL championship. No matter what Romo does, Eli Manning will be remembered.
Are you serious? Do you even watch football?
Eli Manning has every physical QB advantage over Romo. He has a stronger arm, he's bigger, stronger, has better mechanics, better footwork, has a quicker release, and is faster. There's a reason this guy was the first overall pick and Romo was an UFA. The only advantage Romo has on Eli is mobility.
Eli Manning now is a better QB in every way, shape, and form. He's better physically and mentally. He has a better attitude and his approach to the game is leaps and bounds better than Tonya "not now I gotta go shoot a spot for espn and meet with my tailor" Romo.

God forbid that it was in January in the playoffs... We all know how that went! But anyways, the best sound I have ever heard in my life was the constant booing of Eli during warmups and pre-game! Loved it!

But then, that's the whole question isn't it? HE's apparently turned into the exact thing Parcells warned him about: a celebrity QB. He's got the celebrity part down, now about being a good QB................
Doomsday101;2544012 said:Well then we don't agree. Who Romo dates is not an issue except for some of you guys. What do you feel the need to pick out which women he dates and who he doesn't? I don't think his personal live is anyone business but his own. Romo does not get into off the field trouble and puts in the work at Valley Ranch. He is a bit of a celebrity because he is the QB of the Dallas Cowboys
casmith07;2544026 said:Just remember he's not human! He can't date girls and try to have a family or anything like that - he's supposed to sleep in the locker room and wake up at 5AM and watch film until 5PM, eat a few raw eggs and then go through progressions until midnight, and then sleep.
Seriously though, his personality is different and I think people need to get used to it. There is no doubt in my mind that when Tony Romo steps out there between the hash marks and takes the snap that he's not 110% a competitor and out there trying to make plays.
Peyton Manning makes all kinds of commercials and everyone talks about how funny he is...how come nobody does the same for Romo? Hint: there's a Star on his helmet....
Doomsday101;2543972 said:I think many around here get bent out of shape more than the players do about these types of things. I doubt Romo is ranting and raving about what Eli said in joking.
casmith07;2544008 said:Bigger? Eli outweighs Romo by 1 pound and has 2 inches on him.
Stronger? I think this one is a wash.
Better mechanics, maybe I can give you that one.
Better footwork? I don't know...not many QBs in the league move in and out of the pocket like Romo.
Quicker Release?!? stop doing drugs they're bad for you.
Faster? No. Simply no.
wayne motley;2544272 said:Why would one view that as a jab at Romo.
I saw it more as a jab at the media....Cowboys fans are so sadly sensitive about every little freakin' thing.
Eli was smart enough to realize the media was trying to lure him into a trap...say you're going to watch your brother's game...then if you lose in the first round, we'll crucify you for going to that game as a fan instead of staying home and supposedly studying and practicing 24/7.
Eli was smart enough not to go for it, and I saw his Cabo comment as laughing at the media.
Gumby74;2544301 said:lol. some of you guys are so sensitive about Romo, which is how most Eli fans in NY are also. Who's better? It's pretty close to be honest. Romo is the more accurate passer and throws a better deep ball. He also is more able to "carry" the team. The only exception to this is the last 2 minutes of each half. For some reason Eli turns into a different QB. For what it's worth, Romo's a better passer. Eli's more "clutch". Meh, take your pick. There are some key points I'd like to point out though.
Not all of us NY fans are Eli homers. % wise, I'm sure there are more people enamored with Romo then there are people with Eli. So please, Eli isn't an elite QB, but neither is Romo.
For those stat mongers: Romo plays in far better weather conditions then Eli. Like I said before, Romo's a better pure passer, but also keep in mind that Eli has a 95+ passer rating in domes and warm weather climates. Romo is absolutely terrible in December. So I wouldn't put too much emphasis on #'s.
The # of SB rings is a deceiving stat. People bring up Dilfer, which is a valid point. Just because a QB wins a ring, doesn't mean he's automatically better. However, to call Eli, Dilfer 2.0 is just silly. That's just being sour grapes.
If i were to go into a game against an opponent we were supposed to beat, I'd be more comfortable with Romo. However, if the game was already in progress and it was a close game, I'd go with Eli. Romo has yet to prove himself to be a big game QB. Eli has already shown he could be (not elite yet). That being said, Eli depends more on the team around him for personal success where as Romo doesn't. Personal success however doesn't necessarily translate into team success.
Finally, i doubt Romo really cares what Eli says.
similar to how the Giants players took all that Dallas smack from Hard Knocks and used it as motivation,
DIAF;2544085 said:Eli is unquestionably stronger and has a stronger arm.
You speak as if 2-3 inches in height is nothing for a QB.
Better footwork? You don't know? Romo's footwork is crap compared to eli's. Romo admitted as much when he said he needed to work on his footwork (and did, to no avail) during last offseason. Footwork doesn't have anything to do with moving "in and out of the pocket". That's called mobility. Footwork is setting up and getting your lower body in the correct position to throw.
Quicker release? yes, so very yes.
Faster? Eli may not move as well as Romo does out of the pocket, but he is most certainly faster. Times at the combine could have told you that much.
