Pretty much, as frustrating as he can be to watch, Romo has been the franchise over the past decade or so. Granted, if he's not here, maybe we have a guy Rodgers or Luck fall into our lap, but there's no way to know.

The ultimate draft for me would have been Ramsey at #4 and then Lynch trading up into the first round. QB of the future and doing what you can to fix that defense. Romo can play two more years and we can fiddle around with the last window thing while Lynch develops under the teaching of Romo. And hopefully by then the defense is coming around. So lynch begins his career with a top 10 defense and the best Oline in football. Then maybe his 2nd year starting you go out and get him the RB stud to complete things. If you havent found a stud with 3rd or 4th round picks up until then. Until that point I am picking all defense with the first two picks for the most part.

Sure it does, but I'm not the guy throwing around unprovable hypotheticals to support my argument b

Maybe because the accomplishments and circumstances surrounding the two aren't remotely close?

You wanna try to debate Garrett vs Parcells, you just let me know.

Who would you rather have as a head coach Garrett or Wade?

Makes me hate Jerry even more every time I think of how much he wasted Romo in his prime with lesser coaching staffs and no defense.
10 years with Romo, and never get past the div round, and only made playoffs in 3 of the years??
JG has had 4 years with romo, and 1 playoff win ??

So yeah I would say they wasted the best years of a franchise QB, and they still have him, so still possible
to make a run with him, but I dont see them getting to a SB or even conf championship.
And winning one of those seems like just something to dream about, but not realistic.

Didn't you just say, '"Garrett wouldn't have ever gone 36-30 with the same team?" Isn't that an unprovable hypothetical?

We are discussing their tenure as coaches of the Dallas Cowboys. They both coached under the same GM/owner and both have mediocre win/loss records. I don't get the praise for Parcells accomplishments here.

I hate to say this but given the lack of leadership on the team/coaches, I have to agree. Some teams seem to thrive when they are wounded or have backs against the wall. They find or create the "us against the world" mentality, unify and come out even stronger. This usually comes from motivation through the coaches/players to rise above the issues around them.
I don't see anyone affiliated with this team that has the respect to teach/commands that mentality.
Hell, we have about a month b4 the dust starts to settle to see what we really have. I'll wait and see.
The player leadership has been weak for this franchise since Woody retired. My prediction has to do with my belief that Romo will get hurt again. When you're coming off a lost season, then suspensions, then another injury to your QB, it's a recipe for disaster. Especially since the player leadership is weak and the coach is a puppet. Things are going to start to unravel this year.

Ugh! That's like asking me who I like in this year's election!
:banghead:

That is a pretty horrible question. I'll take Wade no question about it. At least he is a football guy and you know the defense is going to be top notch.

"will be fine"

Sorry pup, but "fine" isnt good enough for us higher standard, real Cowboy fans. If you arent troubled with the way things are going, then you simply dont care enough.

4 out of the last 5 seasons have been 8-8 or worse yet you think that is the "anomaly"? You obviously dont even know the meaning of the word.

Obviously you don't know the meaning of the very common word "fine". Here "female pup"--

Yes I did. Good call sir! I stand corrected.

And one guy inherited a team that was 5-11 the year before and Quincy Carter and the other inherited a team that was 11-5 the year before. One guy had winning seasons 3 years out of 4 while the other has 1 in 5 years!

Parcells inherited a team bereft of talent and built something, a team that had back-to-back winning seasons - something Garrett still hasn't done - and a team that Phillips then took to 13-3 the following year.

Anybody putting him in the same universe as Jason Garrett needs to check themselves.

That is a pretty hilarious definition.

Like they are talking about a "fine" chick or something. If that is the way that you mean it then your analysis is waaaaaaaaay off base.

This is the one that more fits what it really means when talking about football typcially.

in a satisfactory or pleasing manner; very well.

as I thought they will not have to sign anyone if he misses a few days because they will just move rod smith to RB for the practices.

You can stick with fine and Ill go with great or incredible. Higher standards my pup. Much higher standards.
Just look at the definition I provided for your crybaby brain. Can't read the bigger words?

Here's some synonyms that were provided for fine
Great, exceptional, first class, outstanding, SUPREME. Maybe you should've said super duper?

Now it's up to you to be a big boy and look the words up so you can understand. I can't do everything for you. :)
