Emmanuel Forbes at 26?

Speaking for myself, physical skills, size, etc are important… but first and foremost I want to see a guy that is good at playing football. That is line number 1 for me.

I’d rather have a guy like Forbes that has great eyes, instincts, aggression, and processing than a guy who is 15 pound heavier but doesn’t really have the mental part of the game.

A guy who isn’t a good player to begin with will bust a lot faster than the great player that is 10 pounds lighter than you want.
Think Merten Hanks circa 1990 Niners. Thats this kid. Like Hanks, he is scrawny looking but between the ears the kid has elite instincts and skill. He aint afraid. I would draft him at 58 and not worry. I think he will be available still. He has a bunch of pick 6's btw. He is a weapon.

Your last sentence is the exact reason you draft him at 26 if you like him…
MAYBE..but I think ya roll the dice and draft according to your board there. UNLESS they have Forbes rated very high. We just dunno. I luv the kid. Best cover cb with hands in the draft.

Of course. Draft the best player!

I like the Brents Kid as well from Kansas. He's another cb with Dawg in him. Thinks the ball is his every time, just like Forbes.

Yes but what if Bijan/Gibbs/hyatt/ Forbes are all there at 26? Its not easy. WHAT if Jalen Carter slides way down the board and is there? It should be interesting.

Witherspoon might slide due to size too. You never know.
Nope, I won’t get my hopes back up for ‘Spoon.

Since I watched him play a game in the fall I have been wanting him in Dallas. I was sure they could get him in round 2.

Then, I thought I would go ahead and use the first round pick for him.

Then, after the season, suddenly everyone has him as their CB1 and he’s getting mocked in the top 10.

It happened with Aaron Donald and it is happening again with Witherspoon… which is a shame because that guy has literally everything that I want in a corner.

No, I’ve come to grips with the fact that Dallas won’t get him (without a trade up).

Forbes is a similar player though, and why I like him so much.

I’m never taking a RB in round 1 so it’s easy for me…

Probably right but ya never know. I thought Lamb was a top 8ish lock.

Your view on Witherspoon is how I feel about Nolan.

If we are talking about 3/4” in arm length of .06 seconds in the 40 I completely agree that those type of fairly insignificant things shouldn’t be a deciding factor. BUT…and you can call me crazy if you’d like, I’m more than willing to draw the line in the sand at no defensive players under 175 pounds. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong and look like a fool, but I don’t see how you line your CB up every week that is giving up (on a good day) 35 pounds and 2.5” in reach. It’s just not a recipe for success

I really like Nolan a lot too… but I like Witherspoon more than any other player… except maybe will Anderson and Jalen Carter.

But if Smith is as good as you think he is, and Spoon is as good as I think he is… Nolan would make a bigger impact because of the position he plays.

I have a feeling that Smith might end up going to Philly at 10 because Howie has figured out that he can’t draft very well… so he just needs to get top players from big SEC schools and hope everybody is right about them.

One of these players we love will fall to us. It happens almost every year.

Like my man Voch says, teams cant draft and QBs going early will help let some of these players slide

Even if you don’t agree on him being able to easily gain weight, to win the division we’ll be asking him to lock up against Smith, Dotson and whatever crap the Giants trot out there…smaller WRs.

I think they’ll both be studs…gone top 20.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if both are the top 2 taken at their position.

No, I’m not going to call you anything. I understand your view.

The truth is if I had a physically talented CB with no instincts or a small talented CB… the odds are that I would likely pick a different position instead of either.

Now, if the board is wiped out and no other position had anyone I liked better, I would go with the skinny guy over the guy with no instincts.

There is just so much to consider in that scenario.

A lot of teams will have that exact opinion.

Surprised he ran so fast, but under 170 pounds is a huge red flag, 180 still is a concern. Question teams must ask, can his frame legitimately add 20 pounds? I really like the player, but think I rather take Banks ahead of him

Unless Forbes is an idiot he had to know his weight would be a huge issue. This news wasn't dropped in his lap this week. Yet he still showed up 166 lbs.

I don't think this a guy who will fill out much in the pros. It's now a question of whether he can play so slender.

Could say the same about Hollywood Brown. He put on 20 pounds and is still explosive as heck.
