Emmitt: Cowboys need to find a way to keep Pollard and Zeke

Who cares. He sucks at playing RB.

There are plays to be made and he’s too slow to even get to the hole before it closes.

All his production just comes from the massive amount of volume the Cowboys give him.

It’s time for fresh legs.

Also,

These types of comparisons are so cherry-picked it isn't even funny. I've seen this one before and it's absolutely ridiculous.

Pierre Thomas: 793 yards, 6 TDs
James Starks: 101 yards, 0 TDs (Notice Brandon Jackson isn't included even though he was their main back)
Ahmad Bradshaw: 659 yards, 9 TDs
Ray Rice: 1,143 yards, 9 TDs
Percy Harvin: 0 yards, 0 TDs (not only is he not a RB, he didn't even play that season until the playoffs where he amassed a grand total of 54 yards)
LeGarrette Bluont: 284 yards (with NE), 3 TDs
C.J. Anderson: 724 yards, 5 TDs (again, no mention of Ronnie Hillman, who was their leading rusher)
LeGarrette Bluont: 1,161 yards, 18 TDs
LeGarrette Bluont: 766 yards, 2 TDs
Sony Michel: 931 yards, 6 TDs
Damien Williams: 498 yards, 5 TDs

Basically, 2 seasons where the primary RB actually produced in the Super Bowl. This chart is a measure of which player on the winning team just happened to have the most rushing yards in the Super Bowl. I'm not making an argument for Zeke, but if you want to hang your hat on having a cheap player produce in a Super Bowl (and perhaps maybe only in a Super Bowl) then have at it. That's a very poor decision, IMO. This isn't a roadmap to winning a championship, it's just pure happenstance.

I was on board with paying Pollard before the ankle surgery, but I'm off it now. And Zeke? Love the guy, a fellow Buckeye, but he's dead money now.

The Chiefs lead rusher in the SB was a rookie 7th round pick. There's no reason to pay big bucks to a RB in this era of football. That's bad business.

jerry would make the call, but he's falling or shouild i say has fallen in the landry trap of being to loyal to people that don't have it anymore zeke in his day was worth good money but he's played to long with his style of running so if he and jerry were smart which there not have him put off the team but from what jerry after a couple of drinks has said he wants him back for what i have no idea

Actually, it's probably a popular opinion inside the team circles. It's my understanding Zeke has quietly become one of the most respected leaders in the locker room and inside the Star. Whatever happens, look for MM, Jerry, and Stephen to treat this with a soft landing. How many times have we heard Jerry and Stephen attach warrior to his name?
I've got no problem with Zeke in the locker room.
He's only a problem on the field.
Snaps should be about production, not personality.

Maybe you hit on that 7th rounder. Maybe not. I don't want to bet a year on hoping that we do.

I don't think Tony Pollards grow on trees.

Agree.

Too many people on this board think elite RBs are easy to find.

Not sure where that idea started.

Doesn’t work.

Most teams have scrubs running the football.

The point is.. You don’t need to spend mega dollars on a RB. It’s just a dumb thing to do.

If you have a superstar RB then trade them to someone else and start the process over again.

Sorry Emmitt, but no way is Zeke worth his contract and its highy unlikely he would take a 50% pay cut or more.

Fantasy football and Madden football. Recliner / Couch / Basement GM's.
Probably most never played a down of football on an organized level, or at least involved in it to some degree.

We all know and seen it, Zeke has lost a step or two. I still say part of it was the play calling and scheming and poor OL run blocking.
I think Zeke and Tony both could have had more yards.

Also the best thing for the team moving forward is to get rid of that huge contract. So he will probably be released as any pay cut, how much will that really help, unless used to keep Pollard.
I still think both can be productive.
A new RB is not going to come in and do much better, unless the RB is Robinson. Then that will stir up an entirely new banter. Robinson vs. Pollard, especially when Pollard is franchised, taking up half of what Zeke would have made. Are fans going to then turn on Pollard as they did Zeke.

Why draft a RB in the 1st round then split carries. What happen in 5 years when he demands a huge contract. It was 2 years before Pollard showed what he could do, and he still was not used correctly. So no mid round drafted RB may end up being any better than what Zeke is now.

I will sit back and wait and see what they do, as any opinions now are worth nothing.

You can throw a dart at a draft board blind folded and get a good running back. It's not complicated when you get to pick from the best talent on earth.

FTR - played football up to JC level.

Good luck with the darts. Why draft one then, just sign an UDFA later on. Then be worse off then what some fans say we are now.
This has to one of the worst logic opinions I heard about player selection.

More so than you.
Is that why I predicted the demise of Zeke and the rise of Pollard and you blew the analysis completely?

You look up at me when it comes to football. And certainly in the Zeke/Pollard argument.

You got completely destroyed! Bow to me

Put Zeke on the chiefs and see what happens.
