Thank you!!Great post.
Thank you!!Great post.
Facts!! So many people like to pretend that Emmitt walked into what the Cowboys became after he got there. If they are not Cowboys fans then the motivation is to downplay any Cowboys accomplishment. It is the same factor that has kept many well deserving HoF Cowboys from their recognition (or they had to wait till an entire generation of biased sports writers retired).
I've maintained for a long time on various internet forums the last 25 years that if Emmitt's helmet sticker were something more like a "G", "C", or a bird or cat of some kind that very few would ever dare question his status as the GOAT.
What truly boggles my mind are Cowboys fans that regurgitate the usual nonsense that underrates Emmitt.
Really? You have no idea what this comment means? Are you even a die hard Cowboys fan or just part time?
Since it's being asked.....And who are you too, my friend? Probably a fan longer than you. How far can you honestly go back too, regarding being a Cowboy fan, if it makes any difference? Just wondering.Really? You have no idea what this comment means? Are you even a die hard Cowboys fan or just part time?
Yeah the year before he got there they were 1-15. Three years after he got there they were a dynasty. His part in that rise was just sheer dumb luck. At least in the minds of many softheads anyway. In their minds Emmitt was just the missing piece to an already championship caliber team. He just reaped the rewards of the greatness of his teammates.Facts!! So many people like to pretend that Emmitt walked into what the Cowboys became after he got there.
Fewer than there should beHow many of them are in the hall of fame?
I don't disagree, but then I believe there should be more HOF'ers from those lines. The Great Wall owes a lot of their success to Emmitt too. Larry Allen is the only member of the Great Wall in the HOF. Shouldn't they all be in the HOF if they are the reason for Emmitt's success?
With apologies to Roger Staubach and Bob Lilly, Emmitt was the greatest Cowboys player ever.Emmitt's the greatest RB of all-time, and the ONLY reason people hesitate to call him that is because he was a Cowboy.
His resume speaks for itself. No other RB even comes close to what #22 accomplished.
Not only that but he won the rushing title, league MVP and Super Bowl MVPAre we still the only 0-2 team to win a Super Bowl?
Those 2 losses came with no Emmitt.
People always want to downplay Emmitt but at that time he ruled the world and everyone knew it.
I know the Giants did it when they won it in 2007, others may have as well (2001 Patriots?). We were the first to do it.Are we still the only 0-2 team to win a Super Bowl?

Spotted Barry Sanders two games and still beat him out for the rushing title. Not only that but he won the rushing title, league MVP and Super Bowl MVP
That 93 team is my all time favorite. Once Emmitt came back they were head and shoulders better than everyone. If you watch the NFCCG, we were pounding the 49ers. The announcers even talked about it during the game. They were scoring on almost every drive Had Aikman not gotten a concussion, they coulda put 50 on them. Every team knew what we were gonna do and they couldn’t stop them. The Super Bowl was a perfect example. They simply said, we’re gonna run the ball down your throat and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. Which we did. So satisfying. As all the haters wanted nothing more than for us to lose so they could say 92 was a fluke. And then Jerry ruined it all.Spotted Barry Sanders two games and still beat him out for the rushing title.
Yep and Aikman pretty much handed the ball off and drove the bus. That 93 team is my all time favorite. Once Emmitt came back they were head and shoulders better than everyone. Dude Go and see someone about THAT !!!!!! Seriously !!!Yep and Aikman pretty much handed the ball off and drove the bus.
And then Jerry ruined it.
If Rice is the best WR of all time, not being either the fastest or biggest wideout, Emmitt is the greatest running back ever. Emmitt’s vision and football IQ are what sets him apart historically. He ran for 9TDs at age 35 for a really bad Cardinals team. Facts: Emmitt was the most prolific runner in history rushing yards, total yards from scrimmage and TDS and he was 3 time SB champ.Emmitt's the greatest RB of all-time, and the ONLY reason people hesitate to call him that is because he was a Cowboy.

That was the season Sanders tore his MCL and didn't play the final 5 games of the season. He finished 5th in rushing yards. Emmitt only started 13 games of the 14 he played in that season. The game against the Falcons the week prior to Thanksgiving he only had 1 carry for 1 yard and left the game due to an injury. It limited him on Thanksgiving, too. Then after the break he finished the season strong. Barry and Emmitt were the only running backs to average over 100 yards per game that year.Spotted Barry Sanders two games and still beat him out for the rushing title.
Dems da breaks. Emmitt could have gotten hurt too. That was the season Sanders tore his MCL and didn't play the final 5 games of the season. He finished 5th in rushing yards.
