These poeple that think romo going to Mexico with jessica made a difference in the game are seriously annoying the hell out of me..You guys are putting way to much thought on this issue. The dude went on a a little alone time with his Girlfriend and everybody is going nuts, like he was getting drunk and throwing his career down the drain. Parcells wouldnt of changed anything, except maybe stuffed his foot up the offensive line after they folded like lawn chairs in the second half.

Here is how this guy's logic works:

I left my house at 8am to go to work and my neighbors car is still in the drive way.

Interesting logic. I actually am at home nearly all day because I can work from my in-home office should I choose to do so on any given day. My crazy neighbor with Tourette's Syndrome never leaves his house for more than an hour or two. I have to make the assumption he doesn't work for a living, and then I realized that half the neighborhood probably thinks the same thing about me, so I gave it no further thought.

Point being, sometimes we think we know something that we actually know nothing about.

Maybe Tony Romo does nothing but have a good time in the offseason.. and on the other hand he may very well work to his hearts content. Either way, we'll never know, so why criticize a guy for something that he may not be guilty of?

I find it most amusing that the same people who are criticizing him for "not working hard enough" in the off-season are the same people typing their criticism from a cubicle at their job site on company time. Isn't that just a tad bit ironic?

It means Emmitt Smith as an opinion. However no one writes about the hours that Romo spends at Valley Ranch putting in work or the film study he has done at Valley Ranch because that does not have the same appeal as reporting on his relationship with Simpson. Romo more than anyone knows what he has to do to get ready for the season and until he proves otherwise I have no reason to doubt Romo dedication to the game and to the Cowboys

His personal life has only "invaded football" because Jessica Simpson is the colonel leading the charge. If it were a plain-Jane, then no one would say two words about it. All these sport personalities in the media only give him grief about it because a few years ago Tony was an unknown bench warmer while they were national celebrities... and Jessica never looked at them twice. Jealousy... that's what the name of the game is.

They all say she's a distraction because they have made her a distraction by calling her one in the media. How much sense does that make? That's like punching a guy in the nose, him turning around and defending himself and then suing him for assault... it's cause and affect.

If the media would stop reporting it, she'd stop being a distraction, and hence the distraction would cease to exist.

The media can make anyone a distraction just by talking about them non-stop.

Says who? You. If Romo goes out and does his job they can't say a damn thing. Because you fall for the enquiring minds what to know BS that is your problem not Romo's. There is no reason what so ever to think Simpson is a distraction in 1 year (his 1st as full time starter) Romo went out and broke several Cowboys passing record held by the likes of Staubach and Aikman so that distraction evidently did not mean that much. Romo has a personal life whether you like it or not and as long as he is doing the job and staying out of trouble it really is no one’s business except for Tony Romo.

When he was young and upcoming, it was fun to talk about how he craves learning from vets. Now that he is "the next best thing", they love talking about how he doesn't take things seriously.

Bottom line is if Romo and the Cowboys fail the media will come up with some reason. If he dumps Jessica it will be because he was heart broken or some other lame line of thinking. Tony Romo is a professional he knows what he has to do if he succeeds all this distraction talk flys out the window and if he fails it will not matter if Jessica is there or not some other reason will be given.

NFL player are real people (yes, I know it's hard to believe) and they actually have a life outside of football. They want families, they fall in love (oh God forbid!) and they have fun. It's really so very sickening that a multi-millionaire would dare try and have fun with the money he's earned! What is the world coming to? Before you know it, Tony might actually get married and have children! Please stop him now before our very universe spirals out of control from the horror of real people doing the things that real people do!

I shall not sleep another night now that I know Romo isn't really Superman, and he's simply a man like you and I.

Seriously though, Tony broke all of those records last year and led us to a 13-3 season, so who's to say Jessica didn't actually bring him good luck? If anything, he was happy to be with her, and everybody knows that when you are happy, you are usually more successful in your endeavors.

See- here is where you guys are taking the various comments stated by Emmit and others, including me, the wrong way. Tony is suppose to have a life outside of football. Being a QB for the Cowboys should be enough pressure for Tony to deal with. All of this other stuff, he simply doesn't need. Emmit knows from experience. That's why he can talk the talk, so respect what Emmit says- the Cowboys won at least three rings doing it with a QB that did not get caugh up in a media frenzy all off season. When Tony wins a ring, then you can bash Emmit for his comment. But until then, you have to respect the wisdom of Emmit, Randy White and perhaps others who have spoke on the issue.
