espn and herm edwards was on espn today, talking about the cowboys. Basically now with all the drama out, no tank, pacman, T O, etc, that now we will see if wade can coach. Cant think of the wr that played for the vikings, but he said that we will see now if wade can manage and coach a football team, that is still loaded with talent.

herm edwards also said which is one of my points, that with romo trying to qualify for the us open etc, he should be concentrating on football, like being leader if this team and soley focusing on football, not about golf. I totally agree.

note it was chris carter that said, now we will see if wade can coach and manage a team;

Exactly who is Herm Edwards to see if anybody in this league can coach. I dont remember him coaching anything wonderful or fielding a team worth competing against.

Wade in one season with the Cowboys accomplished more than Herm Edwards did record wise. I also didnt see Edwards hoist a Lombardi. ESPN is so full of itself.

Can we really drop this stupid argument about his golfing. Romo is best when he's relaxed and playing care free football. When he's stressed and high strung his game drops and you can go check his games for evidence of that. If golfing in the OFFSEASON helps the man relax than let the man play is stinking golf without all the hypocritical fans downing him. And yes I'm calling every board member and fan that criticizes Romo playing golf a hypocrite cause I know damn well none of you accusers are that focuses on your day jobs 110%. None of you are around Romo 24/7 to state where his minds at cause there's been numerous reports from different players and coaches that pretty much say he's boring cause HE'S THAT INDULGED INTO FOOTBALL

:lmao2: I saw the show as well Joe, I'm not so much sitting on the edge of my seat worrying what a Herm said, as much as I was laughing so hard at the end about Terrell Owens and Trey Wingo's comment about how our best WR now plays for Buffalo.

Can those clowns contradict themselves any more than they have??

All year long they doted on how Owens was this big distraction, and he's going to ruin the team, blab, blab, blab. This is some funny stuff right here, the crew at NFL Live never cease to amaze me with their half baked scenarios on how a particular team will play in an upcoming season.

It's a form of laugh therapy after a long and tedious day of stress and worries for the normal guy working in this economy.

I normally wouldn't even listen to them, but this comment had me rolling on the floor laughing.:lmao2:

You would think Herm Edwards would know better than us dumb fans exactly how much golf NFL players play in their down time. Tony just does it at a higher level than most.

Its such a non-story. I can't believe paid reporters waste their time (and ours) talking about it.

We can BUILD ON THIS....thread. ESPN's hired both Matt Millen and Herm Edwards as analysts. Awesome. Both can dissect a game and give Xs and Os breakdown, but when it comes to opinion based pseudo-prognostication...you can do a lot better than Herm or Millen. I think Daniel Faraday from "Lost" would be better.

Bingo.
But some people learn and progress...maybe Wade will do that as a HC.
As far as coaching...he's already very good at that.

At this point in time I think Bo-Bo the clown could and would do a better more efficient job of prognostication.

I love it when a professional blows these popcorn farts about a man's private life and what he does for relaxation. Golf is not my game, but I don't see the connection to ragging on Romo because he gets satisfaction from playing it.

I'm willing to bet Herm, Carter and even the rodeo clown Wingo spend hours on the golf course.

It's do as I say not as I do I guess with ESPN and all their analysts and experts of the game of football.

Herm atleast has won 2 playoff games.

Thats true.

one of them the jets won because san diego's kicker just went braindead and missed a very makeable kick.

I dont remember who the other team the jets beat? Did they beat the raiders? I remember them losing to the raiders, I think maybe they beat them the next year?

No kidding. Only ESPN would hire the worst GM and one of the worst head coaches of the last decade to comment on the NFL.

It's like hiring Andy Reid and Mark Mangino to comment on other people's diet programs.

his playoff record is 2-3 and he never had a team with the talent that Wade has now.

Well I dont like wade, but I think that statement is wrong.

I think he can coach just fine, x's and o's are his strong point, he can manage a game and make adjustments with the best of them.

I think his problem is that he inspires zero confidence, I dont believe he is a strong leader of men and I dont think guys have the respect for him as a figurehead the way some other coaches around the league are viewed.

Throw in Jerry constantly being involved directly with players and that makes wade even weaker in that area.

Wade doesnt even handle the media well or bring enough of that missing energy to grab the media by the throat and make them listen. He comes across as grandpa softy with the players and way too sensitive with the media.
