I am as big a Cowboy fan as any of you, and have been for 35 years. That said, the Steelers are truly Americas Team. No drama, no reality shows, no huge egos to stroke, no hard knocks, no overpriced free agents, no public lockeroom spats, no control freak owner, no cupcake coach. Just a bunch of blue collar TEAMATES that work their tails off to reach a common goal. Hats off to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Yeah yeah, everyone who wins a Super Bowl is America's Team, right! So now Pitt is America's Team, problem is they have a hard time being Pensylvania's team because outside of Pitt, nobody cares. But now they're America's Team. Good thing ESPN was there to clairy matters. The National Enquirer of Sports has spoken - wooo-ooooh!

Then go cheer for the "real America's Team". Please. We'll be happy to be without you.

The 2008 season is over. Can we stop whining and *****ing about the Cowboys and look forward to next season? And those of you that don't want to stop with your "woe is me" outlook on the team, please shut up. I have the rest of the media to rag on my team. I don't need it from my fellow "fans".

Hey dude I agree but I'm not willing to go that far. This season has been **** . Losing at Texas Stadium in the LAST GAME EVER. Not making the playoffs. Basically quitting.

No, I'm not ready to quit complaining especially when I see crap for reasons to be excited next year. NOW, we have to accept the fact the the freaking steelers have more SB's than us.

Heck no I'm not done complaining.

I'm bitter and sour ...and I don't plan on sweetening anytime soon.

I'm all for chewing someone's *** who says something like the OP, especially tonight but I'll be damned if I'm shutting up after almost 15 years WITHOUT A PLAYOFF WIN. I'm done wiht the let's just get behind the team crap. I'm being critical any time I want unless Hostile or a mod tells me I can't.

Let's see...highest television ratings, most revenue from ALL products sole...and an ESPN Soap Opera staple every week.

Make no mistake the Cowboys are still America's team, face it, you bought into a knee jerk reaction and have no clue.

That being said, America's Team doesn't translate into winning and you can give it up to them for that.

So what are you going to do about it???

Look, I am as flustrated as the next guy about how the season ended and we crashed and burned. However, we are fans and fans get behind the team and support the team no matter what.

I mean, what exactly are you are any other fan going to do about anything???......You, me, and everybody else on this board cant do JACK about anything. We have no control over anything, this is basically free entertainment considering most of us get the games for free.

So you are not happy with your free Sunday entertainment. You have no control over player personnel, you have no control over salary cap, you have no control over the coaching staff, and you have no control over play calling.........you are an observer only, just like the rest of us.

So what choice do we really have here???......Sure some fans will leave and go to another team, but they were fair-weather fans to begin with and not diehards like us on this board.

Bottom Line.......fans watch and hope that the team wins enought games to make it to the playoffs and then they hope the team gets hot and makes the SB where anything can happen. FANS WATCH AND HOPE, FANS CONTROL NOTHING!!!!!

I chuckle every time someone wants to peg another franchise as "America's Team."

Good luck with that. There is one team that gets America's attention in good times and bad, one team that is the most popular, most hated, most watched and best-selling team in the country, and it's not whatever team is the flavor of the month.

The Cowboys are America's Team, no matter how envious anyone is or how badly they want it to be otherwise.

I am sure they have room on their bandwagon.

Bandwagon? Flavor of the month? Blow it out my ***? Lets get one thing straight -- the fact is the Steelers are the best run franchise in the NFL. My thread reflects my dissapointment in the way the Cowboys do business and how well the Steelers do business. You idiots that blame everything on "the media" should stop and look around. No playoff wins in 13 years. ESPN is right. End of story.

I see a team that helped out trememdously by officiating in their last 2 SB wins.

You and ESPN can put them on a Pedestal if you want to, I think the rest of us will keep this in perspective.

There is no putting the Steelers on a pedestal-or ESPN. When you want to stop making excuses and look at the facts, the Steelers have won 2 Super Bowls in 4 years. That is the real perspective.
Why is it that some Cowboy fans cant admit that our team is poorly run? I love Dallas and always will but I wish the team had better management and any true Cowboy fan knows this is true.

What does this have to do with the fact that the Cowboys are America's Team?

The Steelers can be "the NFL's best-run team" (which is debateable). That doesn't make them America's Team.

Anyone who thinks the Steelers are America's Team is either delusional, a Steelers fan or a Cowboys hater. There is no other answer.

Any publicity is good publicity. The Cowboys get a good dose of both.

If the Boys ever make a Superbowl this century (I know, wishful thinking) it will be the highest rated game of the century.

Jerry is the very best at marketing a team. They haven't won a pllayoff game in over 10 years yet people still talk about them like the glory years. Just look at the amount of people who get a kick when this team fails (which is plenty as of late) Love em or hate em, people love to watch this team play.

Know why we are still considered America's team?

Because another team can win the Super Bowl, yet the COWBOYS are still the focus of the article on the front page of ESPN, even though we didn't even make the playoffs.
