Wow some you guys are something else.

Why the hell is there a rush to get this done?

You're letting the media whip you into a frenzy.

There could be another Teddy Bridgewater situation in the next few months. Just RELAX.

Figures..............looks like Jerry gave it one last shot and nobody took the bait........that contract is just not tradable.

This is what happens when you restructure a contract a gazillion times, its not moveable.

Romo will be released this week, almost a given at this point..........I know you guys don't like it, but it is what it is.

Because of pressure from fans or the media? If Jerry releases Romo it will because Jerry made up his mind.

The Dallas Cowboys are not expected to find a trade partner for veteran quarterback Tony Romo, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Possible interested teams in Romo appear unwilling to take on the 36-year-old's contract or overpay for a quarterback who has started four games during the past two seasons because of injuries, sources told Schefter.

Sources also told Schefter that the Cowboys are unwilling to trade Romo to a city in which he does not want to play. Teams interested in Romo believe the Cowboys will eventually release the four-time Pro Bowler, and are willing to wait until that happens before pursuing him as a free agent, sources said.

Actually he does, where is it written that he has to release Romo? Heads will roll in Houston if they don't have a QB before mini camps. Every day they wait they get that much more behind
And for that the price goes up. I just hope Jerry doesn't blink beforehand

Once the offseason workouts begin, they have to do something. It would be incredibly dumb, even for Jerry Jones, to let some player with a known bad back start working out and then get hurt, leaving the team exposed to pay him.
:rolleyes:So you're the one spreading lies that Romo is feeble and made of glass.

It's a game of chicken. Don't blink Jerry.

The whole, "They won't trade him because they don't want to take on his contract" is dumb. Everyone knows that if Houston wants him, all they have to do is call the Cowboys and ask for permission to negotiate a restructure. It's just that simple.

I have always thought Romo would be released rather than traded.

It just doesn't make sense for a team to absorb his contract as-is when he's barely played the last two years. If this was 31 year old Romo, it would be different but this is soon to be 37 year old Romo who hasn't played much the last two years who also in that time has broken his collarbone and back.

There's no way I would trade for Romo's current contract and I like Romo and think *if* he can last all season, he could have a great year, but that *if* is the big concern though.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Unless you are willing to pay Romo to be the highest paid backup in NFL history and expose yourself to paying it if he injures himself, you can't hang onto him until and through training camp.

Besides there is no way Jones frustrates his favorite son like that.

Romo is fully accounted for in the books. If he gets hurt, nothing changes. He would still be fully accounted for. The team would not lose anything. BTW, Romo has never been injured working out. Its always been in games. By now he knows how to work out without hurting himself.

Jerry just can't let an asset like Romo leave town for nothing. As the offseason goes on, the Texans will get more desperate. A Super Bowl calibre defense with no QB is not a good situation to be in.

If they pick up Jay Cutler though, that wou.d change things.

You likely wouldn't be trading for Romo's current contract. You likely could negotiate a restructure. Tennessee did that when they initiated a trade with the Eagles last year.

Regardless when Mike Glennon gets $15MM a year, Romo's $14MM ain't so bad.

Jerry has ruined this franchise in a plethora of ways, but I still REFUSE to believe he is dumb enough to hand over Romo on a silver platter to his in-state "rival" without any compensation.

I REFUSE to live in a world where Sam Bradford can garner a 1st rd pick but we can't even get a mid-rd pick for Romo.

Either the league is colluding against us or we have the worst negotiators in the world.

we may be able to trade for him or we may not.
there is nothing to lose to keep him waiting for another bridgewater to happen.
we can just hope that the heat gets turned up in houston, though elway is totally secure.

The problem is that YOU want it done now. Jerry is in a pissing contest with Houston and Denver. Jerry has the right to say forget it, Romo stays

Oh geez more paralysis by analysis? So sick of dreaming up all the ways Romo could get hurt.

I think your second point is more valid and disturbing.

WHAT?

I just said the opposite in my previous post.

Why the hell is there a rush to get this done?

You're letting the media whip you into a frenzy.

I'm willing to wait this thing out till August.

A bad trade doesn't make the market. Minnesota made a bad trade. I didn't see a bunch of teams making bad trades when we traded multiple premium picks for a receiver(twice).

Minnesota made a bad trade, teams aren't going to rush to do it. I'm not even going to get into the fact that Sam Bradford is young enough to be on your team for the 5 years you would have a rookie..you got two years tops with Romo.
