Because questions about the paternity case would be asked?
Jerry is still the boss and he wants to be there.
They need time to figure out how to deal with the questions also
I am not disagreeing with you but that precaution does not make the situation any better for Jerry Jones. Jones knows the details of his own case. He has legal counsel to strategize what he should or should not publicly comment on the case. He has family and friends to advise him as well.
Only a court decision might add a different variable into his 'predicament'. Perhaps his attorneys and inner circle agree he should wait until after he appears in court and deal with the collective heat then. (Kinda laugh at media bring Jones any significant heat, lol). His chosen course of action will not lessen the volume of media questions thrown at him about the case after-the-fact though.
In my opinion, his and Stephen Jones' best option is simply not speak publicly about the legal case and answer all subsequent questions with a 'no comment'. That alternative would be atypical for both of them but they have the right to keep family matters as private as possible. Doing so would force any media attending the press conference to make a choice. Either badger them with non-football questions or quit and move on to football questions.
