That would solve some issues wouldn't it. I guess he has three games to show it.

I'm guessing if they thought he could play right now, they'd get him out there.

They like Costa at C alot, but he's in the same boat as Young. Just isnt ready.
For true? Miles Austin, Sean Lee, and Tashard Choice disagree
Sean Lee was hurt alot early on, missed alot of camp. Playing behind two guys who both had outstanding seasons last yr. Now that he's healthy he's getting more and more reps.
Tashard Choice looked really good vs Indy, but then got all of Barber's reps vs Philly and did nothing. Most of this season (other than Indy) when he's got reps, he did nothing.
Austin there's not much excuse for, but some players do grab the bull by the horns when they get a shot, and run with it. Happens to teams all around the league.

I agree, IF it makes sense to trade down because there simply are NO players worth the pick in the current slot, fine.
But mostly, I hate the idea of trading down for additional picks.
The NFL is a league that is driven by impact players. Every good team has a few impact players who can separate themselves from the crowd and make plays in a big situation. The rest of the rosters are pretty much interchangeable with the exception of the impact guys.
If anything, I've always preferred trading up to grab an impact guy...like, oh, Dez Bryant for instance.

The "Points Chart" that Jimmy developed is/was severely outdated, but will be obsolete once the new rookie wage "scale" comes about.
As a result higher draft picks will be even more valuable. So I would expect to see more given to get them. Until the exact specifics are known, it would be hard to evaluate what they are worth. But it is coming.
It takes two to tango though. Regardless of where you are you need to find a trading partner willing to give up the picks to move there. The NFL and NFLPA have interests here. Future rookies do not. Thats why you will see a very noticeable shift in the value of higher draft picks.

Absolutely true. I think a lot of people are in love with trading down because that's where OL are rated, but I'm of the opinion if a potential impact defender is available early, you take him and then, if it works out, trade up to get the OLineman you wanted to trade down for. Or if you can't trade up, so be it.
I don't think anyone can make the case - outside of possibly QB and WR - that there is a stud player at any position the Cowboys can disregard because of need. And I would argue no position period.

IRVING -- If the season ended today, the Cowboys would get a Top 10 pick in the draft. Dallas is tied with Arizona and San Francisco for picks six or seven.
NFL draft expert Mel Kiper thinks the Cowboys might trade down here because the offensive line is a need. But Kiper projects some offensive linemen to go later in the first round so moving down isn't out of the question.
