Ezekiel Elliott's lawyers trying to settle case with NFL

...

While Ezekiel Elliott continues to insist that he is fighting for his name, his attorneys have attempted to settle his case with the NFL and have the Dallas Cowboys running back's six-game suspension reduced, a source close to the situation told ESPN.

It's unclear how many games they have proposed to the NFL, but neither the league nor the NFLPA intends to settle this case and have Elliott's suspension reduced at this time, sources said.

Zeke’s camp have denied this rumor in the past. If he does settle, it’ll have to be for more than reducing the suspension. I imagine he’ll demand that the NFL clear his name and state unequivocally that he didn’t abuse anyone.

I was wondering last night.

Since Harold Henderson is basically a NFL rubber stamp...I wonder if the suspension would’ve been reduced if the NFLPA didn’t rush to the Texas court.

Once the NFLPA already ticked the NFL off by sneaking to Texas...they may have not reduced the suspension out of spite.

Who are these sources? Same sources as the sources he had with the Dez video?

This dude ensures he continues to get his tv time. He had the same report two weeks ago which was disputed.

JMO but Elliott is winning in the court of public opinion and shouldn't settle.

I don’t know. Sometimes I creep on the forums of teams we play. On the Chiefs forums I’ve learned that Elliott

- definitely is an abuser
- needs to be suspended
- needs to be imprisoned
- needs to be paralyzed
- needs to be shot

All from different comments. Because people see “suspension” and think he did it.

They weren't going to reduce. Their lead investigator, the only person to interview the accuser six times, recommended no games and they still suspended for six games.

Same team with a dude who punched his pregnant girlfriend, which is undisputed. Nice.

However, if this was happening to one of their own players, he would be innocent.

Didn't schefter report just 2 weeks ago that the NFL wanted to settle?

Schefter likes to use the con that fortune tellers use. If you make enough predictions, sooner or later you will get it right. And when it does come true, tell the world how you predicted it all along while failing to mention all of the other predictions you got wrong.

This was really popular with tabloids and that's essentially what ESPN has become.

If they take DV off the board, sure. 2 games for conduct detrimental and be done with it.

If they insist on labeling him an abuser however, he should tell the NFL to pound sand. He ultimately can't beat the rap, but if he's innocent he should go down swinging for the record.
