Not necessarily.

Zeke may have that "I'm innocent and will fight till the end no matter what" stance....but it doesn't mean his legal team won't explore every possible angle or opportunity to reach a conclusion. Which is what I was stating in the post of mine that you quoted.

I'm sure at this point both sides' legal teams would be interested in reaching an end to this.
But ... Zeke ultimately has to approve this deal. And if he does so, he's going back on his "this is more than just a suspension" declaration.

It depends on what the deal entails.

Based on Zeke's own statements I doubt the legal teams will reach a deal that he's a agreeable to.

But that shouldn't stop them from trying.

I just think at this point the situation has become such a circus and debacle that the lawyers on both sides are ready for it to be over. Hence, the talk of a possible deal.

Zeke is fighting the DV. If the NFL would drop the DV charge but suspend him a game or two for his other off field incidents, it would definiteley something to consider.

I don't think he should settle especially if suspension is not applicable in the play offs.. but its entirely up to him

People, please don't believe anything Adam Schefter says. He's the puppet for the NFL, so he's been fed this "hot fake" to muddy the waters.

How does this work? I'll take two games suspension for something I didn't do?

Yeah, its like a plea bargain. You know, like how the majority of criminal cases are resolved in this country, even when someone is innocent.

Not if he's innocent.

His innocence isn't, and hasn't ever been, a part of the equation. Charges were not filed yet he is battling suspension.

A lesser sentence lets him "win" against the mandatory minimum of 6 games. The fact that he was able to take the issue this far with as many injunctions as he has received is a win.

If he were to get 2 games without the designation of having a DV punishment on his league file, that's a win. I think it would be a win for all sides. The league doesn't have to suffer the consequences of having given no punishment if Zeke wins, and Zeke doesn't suffer the consequences of having a DV suspension on his file if the league wins.

You don't think the agreement would be contingent on him not being able to file a civil suit?

The NFL wants to prevent anyone else from going to Federal Court...... they are just as determined as EE...... if they can make it tough on EE and DAL and still get a couple games it will be a face saving deal...... the key is getting the injunction though...... if they can get to the offseason the league will almost have to deal
