A man's got to know his limitations. Change the charge to conduct detrimental, drop DV. Reduce to 2 games and let's go.

I would think such a settlement might be amenable to Zeke. Even though it doesn't totally absolve him of guilt, the DV charges could rightfully be dropped. Things like the bar fight and pulling the woman's dress down exposing her breasts could dutifully be noted and minimally punished. :)

Just as if Zeke were an Eagle, many of us would be saying he's guilty.
Let’s repalce many with some.

Some may. The ones that didn’t read through the evidence of the case would. Give some credit. Many on board have read through the entire deposistion, or whatever they called it, of Thompson, her texts, and the accounts of her friends about the incident and her accounts and evidence.

If the same evidence applied to another teams player those that went through the evidence would come up with the same conclusion.

For many of us this is actually bigger than a key player from our team being out. It’s about fundamental fairness and a rogue league office led by a man that has mishandled issue after issue seemingly getting another one wrong.

I think the NFL believes it will ultimately prevail. They have no reason to settle right now.

That would be pretty short sighted of the NFL. If the NFL loses this appeal it has a lot more to lose. If I were the NFL's lawyer I would be cautioning them to try to settle this case. I would offer Zeke something. Even if it was to offer him 6 games with no DV finding.

Once Zeke is offered something without the DV finding it puts a lot of pressure on Zeke to settle the case and the league could end up with the same punishment on Zeke, without risking the kangaroo court system they currently have in place. They have really mishandled the Zeke case and if they are smart they will sweep this under the rug and move on.

I doubt the NFL will do that, but if those were the stipulations, I'd take it.

Zeke would be under a lot of pressure to settle on those terms and probably should accept that even if he's not guilty. He would seriously have to consider that.

The problem is if he gets a suspension he has zero guaranteed money. That would probably have to be altered for him to take a suspension.

Even if Zeke gets the injunction and eventually wins the case the Court will probably tell both sides to reach an agreement...... the NFL could always try EE again and treat him "fairly" and give him 6 games again...... reduced to 4 on 'appeal'

A two game suspension with no admission or charge of DV is in everyone's best interest

Zeke missing Playoff games is the worst case scenario

I don’t know. Sometimes I creep on the forums of teams we play. On the Chiefs forums I’ve learned that Elliott

- definitely is an abuser
- needs to be suspended
- needs to be imprisoned
- needs to be paralyzed
- needs to be shot

All from different comments. Because people see “suspension” and think he did it.

didnt one of their players redecorate the team headquarters parking lot cobain style because their organization is such ****? or was that the kansas city chefs im thinking of?? indoor league.

So much for the "I'm so innocent I'll fight this to the end" line.

Not necessarily.

Zeke may have that "I'm innocent and will fight till the end no matter what" stance....but it doesn't mean his legal team won't explore every possible angle or opportunity to reach a conclusion. Which is what I was stating in the post of mine that you quoted.

I'm sure at this point both sides' legal teams would be interested in reaching an end to this.

One other thing. ..if DV is dropped and they settle on 2 games...it would probably exempt the nfl from a defamation of character suit. But, if he does serve 6 games and is charged with DV by the nfl...then the liable lawyers will smell blood in the water.
