Yeah, coddle Mo. Create for him a diversion.

Gimme A Break! Pun intended. We use up to 7 DBs at times so he'll be the third or 4th CB in rotation which he's done before. My guess is he'll share time with Moore as an outside corner with OScan going to the slot when necessary.

It has been done before Duane Thomas was a problem and without knowing what took place once Mo returned that night to Garrett office we really do not know what was said by both. Right now Mo has stood up before his teammates he has apologized for his actions. Damn we have had guys do worse than that and continued to play.

I'm all for handing down a fine and no issue with the demotion but frankly I think some of you go overboard without having all facts. This matter is being handled in house that is where he should be done and that is where other teams take care of business. Not with fans or the press.

Never claimed to have the facts. Just worry about the culture of a club that has people walk off and the discipline in "in house." Which could mean no discipline at all, for all we know.

I don't think that is the case. TO found out. Claiborne made a mistake no question about it and the club has handled it. How big of a fine I don't know.

Last time I remember something happening like this under Garrett was Barber didn't wear his suit or something. That was handled 'in house' as well. I don't believe anybody ever heard what, if any, the punishment was.

I personally don't believe Garrett is given the authority to punish players, or make changes to the depth chart. I honestly think that Jerry is the owner of those decisions

I agree. Garrett seems too politically correct and trying to please everyone. The saying goes that if you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody. This is the case with Mo.

Its time that Garrett be tougher on his players. He talks about accountability, yet he hands out these petty punishments as though they mean something. He should be a no nonsense kind of coach that the team fears. Stop being friends to players. Stop dating your starting QB in public. It doesn't win games and sends a bad message to the team.

And, predictably, he said Mo was a competitor who works hard. If I am paid even the NfL minimums, you can be certain that I will be a "competitor" and will "work hard." Isn't that a given. And if it is a given, why even say it?
Glad Tom Landry is not around to see this continual coddling. And, Jimma? he don't care, he is halfing fun being a announcer but if he came back to coach the Boys Mo should be quaking in his boots.

People here teased Wade Philips of being light on his team and that the players liked him because of that. Even Garrett, I believe snarked at the term "camp cupcake". However, now it seems were having a coach that seems to being that same exact thing for his players - being too politically correct and nice. The should give him the term "coach cupcake" for his unwillingness to deal with players like most NFL coaches and teams do.

What are you basing this on? Because from where I'm sitting, it doesn't seem his way at all. I'm even having a hard time guessing at what you're referring to.

Was Mo suspended? NO. Was Mo fined? NO. Basically, Garrett let him off the hook with just a slap on the wrist. Just about any team would have either slapped him with a fine and/or suspension for a few games. To me thats being "cupcake" like.

Take it what it is. Garrett is too light on his players. If you want a coach like that thats cool. Not me. I want a coach that won't tolerate such antics. If he talks about instilling discipline then he should act on it. Talk is cheap.

Did I miss a report re: what the team actually did to Mo in this case? Last I heard, Mo was telling the media that the consequence hadn't been decided yet.

And I have no way of knowing what teams might normally do for an unexcused missed practice. So you can't conclude that Garrett's light on his players at all. By most accounts I've heard, he's tough on the players overall, and makes a point of coming down on them privately and that those situations are intentionally kept out of the prying eyes of the media. That's not soft, that's smart.

Did we ever find out what they did to Dez for leaving the field early in a game? I don't recall hearing, but it sure seems like that behavior has stopped. What about Dixon missing two meetings before putdowns? I'd say that got handled. That wasn't just talk. That was talk + walking papers.

Coaches and/or players have meted out punishments over the years. I think some things have changed with the CBA but assuming anything without facts does exactly what the rumor is.

you see things clearly.
I half had high hopes for JG because he is smart and stuff.
But his style is more corporate than coach, more political than practical. Players are not corporate beans, they is hard-hitting, organic guys who respond to yelling and exhortations and benchings.

JG half lost respect of his team. They seem to like him but if i half my druthers, I want players to be afraid of him and not wanting to half a picnic with him and his wife and the kids.

Lets talk facks: First Mo is no Duane Thomas.
Secondily, what kind of world is it that grown mans can walk away and then return and say "I'm sorry" and be welcomed back in our embrace?
You try that at work. Yes, your case won't be made public. But yo butt will be at the unemployments line.
Mo's case has got to be a signal (if there are true sanctions) that other playes better not do that. But maybe they will because Jason will handle it with kids cloves and then say, after all, that the miscreant is a "competitor" and "a hard worker."
I wish I had Mo's contract (mon-ay) and a understanding boss like Jason.

What?

How could benching a top three CB for a game against a prolific passing offense be considered corporate or practical in any way shape or form?

If I'm another player on that team and felt that Mo made a mistake but came back and manned up in taking responsibility but was benched anyways hurting our chances of getting a win I would wonder what the hell my coach was thinking.

Benching him to satisfy some ridiculous fan bloodlust is not considering what's good for the team and is poor coaching/management.

Fine him. Make him run gassers after practice. Move on from him in the offseason. Don't cut your nose off to spite your face.

That is your take Mo is not the 1st or last guy who had a drama queen moment in the NFL and they normally get fined and the HC does not come out and rip into the player. All teams use in house policy there is enough BS with the media they don't air their dirty laundry. As for comparing the NFL to other jobs? LOL there is no comparison NFL player’s screw up a lot and the avg working Joe would lose his job in the NFL they get multiple chances. I fail a drug test my butt is fired in the NFL you fail once you are on notice, you fail twice you set suspended for 4 weeks? LOL So stop the non-sense of comparing working class people with professional athletes it is 2 different worlds

This might be relevant if we were talking about the corporate world. LOL

But we're not.

Did you have a relevant point to make?

If you think the Dallas Cowboys and the NFL are not corporate, you half to rethink your rude comment.
The players are no different than others working in the corporate world. They half contracts, travel, half attorneys and managers and abide by taxes and corporate regulations.
The difference is they play football on the field. Otherwise, they live more in the corporate world than you or me or a dog named Blue.
So take yo smug, girlish LOL and consider what I half said in the manner of the (echo chamber effect) Supreme Truth.

LOL (a manly laugh out loud)

I half addressed that to another mans who do not know that NFL players are actually in the corporate world.
That you disagree mean to me that maybe you work in the service or retail indostry and not a important person like me, a proud son of the Hills of Farmers Branch.
But we needs peeps like you to serve (literally) yo fellow man.
So take yo smug sense of pride and git me them fries. And dont forget the catshup cause that ruins my day.
dont gift me that look. you wanna me call your manager? yeah, that is what I thought.
